He's just a poacher though mate, to me anyway.

If we sign him and no creative player then I don't think it makes us anymore exciting.

Maybe just me though buddy, I've been wrong a lot before.

would love you to point me out to QPR's creative player though. they created a heck of a lot less than we do.

Austin scored so many goals that were very scrappy or from corners, something we have missed for ages. If he adds that to our team along with Lukaku and a player who plays through balls then we can compete again.

if this Austin rumour is true Bobby better have an extra 10-15m to spend on a creative midfielder! Don't get me wrong would love to see Austin at Everton but if we don't have the money to get him and a decent creative midfielder them I'd rather have a striker on loan and spend the rest on one of them

2001–2002 Rio Sport 30 (17)
2002–2003 Lierse 32 (11)
2003–2005 Roda 63 (27)
2005–2007 PSV 53 (21)
2011–2012Levante (loan) 34 (15)
2012–2013 Wigan Athletic 33 (11)

What's your point? Only at Sevilla and Everton he has not delivered
To combine his stats at Roda and PSV from he had 48 goals in 116 Eredivisie games which really isn't that impressive for the standard of the league and compared to what other players have done there.

Whilst I'll admit he's got a good goal per game ratio for his age at Lierse that's still not an overly high standard compared to the Prem, Kone had never been a consistent scorer at a top league.

Whilst Austin has a knack for scoring I still do worry a little considering he's only done it at this level for one season, for 12-15m that is a risk.

Agree with that. Lukaku is a classy forward and finishes well when given that bit of time to set up; I like the idea of someone else in who can snap up a half chance.

Would be a shot in the arm if we landed him.

I understand your point, im just saying its better than scoring goals for Poole in non league.

This aside, i would still take a risk on him, as he is still youngish

He can also hold the ball up well, which also compliments Lukaku.

Aerial presence, threat and ability.
Ability wise i don't think he is anything we don't already have, so he wouldn't give us options there, not really. Aerial threat ? Yes maybe, but we starve our forwards as is and rarely get crosses in for an aerial threat to emerge. Not to mention how piss poor we are at crossing the ball that has any kind of effect.

An obvious upgrade on Kone, but i just picture the way we play and from having watched Austin, think we would starve him somewhat to the point he would be pretty much ineffective. Austin is a no for me...
