Why is Martinez obsessed with wingers, we are one Lukaku injury or sale away from a relegation scrap?

I have been very impressed in the last two weeks and I do feel that one of the two is ready to stay in the first-team. So maybe we need one new face in at centre-half and then, in another position, we will still be lightweight and will wait as long as we can to select the right person.”

A centre half and a winger then, yep that's what cost us that champs lgue place werent it?

He is completely out of touch with reality, our team has such a limited goal threat, and is solely reliant on an inconsistent striker.

Where in that quote does he mention a winger???

I'm a great striker of the ball, but he was possibly the worst player to keep possession of a football. Passing to him was like giving the ball away. The others you mention were terrible too.

The other player is a creative midfielder, he alluded to that months ago. Creativity in midfield is something we've been missing for ages. Granted if Lukaku gets a serious injury it's worrying but the same for any of our key players.

Before Van Dijk moved to Celtic he was in the Eredvise team of the year at the age of 21, and has probably since been Celtic's stand out player domestically and in Europe for the past 2 seasons. The snobbery on here from some is just unbelievable. Just because someone is playing in Scotland means he's tosh?

Look at Wanyama, adjusted to the PL smoothly and was one of the best DM's in the league last year. Ki, another good player who has been consistently good in England/Wales since his move to Swansea. For me Van Dijk is a better player than both. One of our best players came from Scotland ffs.

If he moves here (and I hope he does), you will all love him.

I agree. Great player.
 
I can't see us signing Lennon. We already have Mirallas, Deulofeu, McGeady who play on the right. We only have one player who specialises on the left wing and he's finished.

We desperately need a left sided player for balance in the squad.
 
If push comes to shove and we're not signing a left sided player permanently I'd definitely take Januzaj on loan, the lad isn't getting a look in at Utd and has obvious ability.

Reckon McGeady will go when fit and we'll get Lennon back on loan close to deadline day.
