Travel thread 3.0

Just booked 4 nights in Edinburgh.

Will be doing the vaults and ghostie tours as that's what MrsCT has always fancied. Staying near the castle so that's on the itinerary as well as the other usual Edinburgh things such as Arthur's Seat. Any recommendations?
If it’s not pissing down, Walk to Dean village from the top of Prince’s street then follow the water of leith all the way down to the shore.
Portobello is nice as well on the beach

Did the ghost tours a few years back. It was worth it. We were there at the tail end of Fringe, so I am sure a lot would be different. But Arthur's Seat was a good time, the castle was neat, and we did a Trainspotting tour in Leith which was interesting. Had my first oyster at White Horse Oyster & Seafood bar and now I am addicted, so I would recommend hitting their happy hour up. I enjoyed the place. Especially enjoyed sitting in a bar and watching some uni kids get extremely angry when we beat Lincoln City(I think) in the cup.

Going on an organised tour around Jordan for a week and a couple of days in Rome on the way back completely on my own.

If anyone has any recommendations of places to eat and drink in Trastevere, that would be great!

Haha.... this so much. Me and my wife started walking up it in jeans, realized that was a bad idea and turned around and changed clothes. Well worth it though.
Was just walking round in jeans, jacket and trainers with no direction in mind, wandered past the Parliament building and Arthurs Seat was just there. Decided to walk up as it looked quite a gentle walk but it definitely ramps up a bit more than I expected. Deffo had me blowing a bit.

The craggier part at the top is a turned ankle or worse waiting to happen if you've not got proper footwear though.

Sorry if posted before. Im pretty well up on a lot of places but Cape Verde is an enigma to me and we are looking to go mid June. Anyone been? I reckon it might be a marmite kinda place. Love it or hate it

I went a few years ago to Boa Vista. There was hardly anyone on the island, almost every local worked in the 2 or 3 hotels or the airport. The main island with the capital Praia probably should be better though.

Looking at a 7 night Mediterranean cruise for October. Going through the process to book online and the Royal Carribean site is doing weird things and adjusting prices.

I remember this happening last time i book with them too. Hate when terrible online systems force you into speaking to a human to get a holiday booked.

Off to the US in 3 weeks for the youngest daughters 21st. New York for 3 days, Washington for 2 and then on to Asheville, North Carolina to meet some old work friends. Should be good fun. Done all 3 before but the Mrs and daughter have only done NYC.
