Travel thread 3.0

Yeah it's a great area, but just walk places all over the city. The centre is probably the most uninteresting bit

It is expensive @evertony @LocalNative but with the cost of living in the UK being so much worse than most of Europe, it doesn't feel quite as bad this time
We’re going to 2 Springsteen concerts in the Parken stadium and I’ve told my mate I want to go over the bridge on one day , he’s been before, I’m really looking forward to it.

Managed to persuade the kid he would prefer Gardaland to Disneyland so we can visit the Italian lakes rather than Florida.

I take it Bergamo is worth a visit? Was planning to fly into Verona but can fly to Bergamo from Liverpool. Will definitely visit Verona either way.
Definitely worth a 1-2 day stop in Bergamo...even if just for the views from up in the old town or to have a trip down in the vernacular

Been a couple of times. Once used Split as a base for a couple of days and went to Krka waterfalls and Trogir, as well as various other places on the way there and back, before heading over to Hvar Island for a couple of days.
Another time flew into Dubrovnik and had a couple of days in the OId Town before getting the boat up the coast to Makarska and staying there for a week. Lots to do activity and sightseeing wise.
Would like to fly into Pula, further North, and have a look round there and Rovinj at some point in the future.
Only Dubrovnik seems to be on high up the tourist map from a UK point of view which surprises me as there are lots of places and islands to visit
Flying into Pula and working your way to Split gives you the best opportunities to see some great places in my opinion...much better than Split to Dubrovnik. Starting in Pula you can take in Porec, Rovinj, Rijeka, Cres, Mali Losinj, Novalja, Sibenik, Zadar, Trogir, Bol and Split amongst others. Absolutely love Istria.

I went there a few years back, I think it was in Easter so not so busy. Arrived in Zadar and rented a car and went south staying in Split and Dubrovnik. Visited Mostar in Bosnia along the way and also went to Kotor in Montenegro which has amazing scenery. Interesting place and seem to remember reasonably cheap
Montenegro is a brilliant place to visit - we based ourselves in Hercig Nova and moved around from there.

Just booked 4 nights in Edinburgh.

Will be doing the vaults and ghostie tours as that's what MrsCT has always fancied. Staying near the castle so that's on the itinerary as well as the other usual Edinburgh things such as Arthur's Seat. Any recommendations?
Museum of Medicine is a must in Edinburgh....

Anyone been to Toulouse? Me and the missus have booked to go for a few days on a whim. Any top tips on things to do / see?
Aye, been a few times to that region. Toulouse is a really cool city. It’s known as the pink city due to the coral colour of most of the buildings.

It’s a student city so it’s got that laid back vibe (the climate also helps).

I would definitely recommend a trip to space city - there’s loads to see and do there and really interesting if you’re into space and stuff. Also they have a huge planetarium which is really cool.

I’m a bit of an aircraft nut, so I dragged my family around the airbus industry site on a guided tour which I thought was ace but my daughters weren’t too impressed.

If you have little ones then I’d recommend walibi world near Agen. It’s a great family theme park. Other than that enjoy, it’s France so food and wine will be ace.

Cheers. I've actually never been to France, so quite looking forward to it. I don't quite know how I've managed it lol. Just me and the missus going, so the space centre sounds a good bet as she's a bit of a science nerd.
