After 9pm it's shown, and the majority of teenagers will still be up at that time watching TV
Well they are planning on banning it altogether plus any mention of it through the TPD.

but there is a thing called the Watershed, which is aimed at stopping kids seeing anything they shouldn't be seeing on tv. If a parent lets someone see something beyond this time that is not suitable then it is on them, not the advertisers who are following the rules in terms of showing it after that point in time.

Excellent news that it's going to be banned. What's the TPD?

Tobacco Products Directive. Which is ironic, as these aren't tobacco products.

It's basically a corporate stitch-up aimed at handing the industry to big tobacco.

Happens in every industry unfortunately, the companies at the top table have lobbyists and people sitting on boards that will change regulations and standards to protect themselves while destroying small businesses.

I'd have thought nicotine was the problem here, not tobacco.

Big tobacco has a hand in a few of the vaping companies. Most of the ones that you see in the supermarkets and corner shops. They mostly make cig-a-likes, which are [Poor language removed], 10ml bottles of poor quality eliquid and a couple do a branded eGo-type e-cig.

Amongs other things, the TPD aims to outlaw box mods, will outlaw most refillable tanks and tanks over 2ml, and will outlaw buying eliquid in any volume over 10ml. It will also outlaw buying nicotine if I remember right, to stop you making your own liquid.

That's exactly what's going on here.

No idea how old you are, or how long you had been smoking.

But. If you are 30 plus, and been a smoker for say 15 years plus, stock up on paracetamol, anti biotics, and lemsip.

Because you will get every single little bug and germ in about a week for about 5 months. Nicotene acts as a immune system, which means your natural ones have been like idle teenagers for years. Once the nicotene has drained from your system, about now, your natural immune system will not have a clue what to so. You wont die, but just get colds, tummy upsets, tooth aches, etc, time after time until yours get fit again.

They dont tell you that.

Thanks for the warning! It's been a month so could happen! I am 46, smoked since 21 not heavy between 5-15 depending on the day really. Tbh honest used to always have sinus problems which pretty much disappeared over night, had no cough which I expected and have even stopped snoring so missus is delighted. Helped we gave up together so far so good. Got to admit, had about 5 days off sick in 12 years teaching so know what you mean about the immune systeM. Also after blood tests got called back to the doctors for a same day appointment as the results came in and got to admit I was petrified, the fear of the big C was horrendous, so that fear is also driving me on to stay stopped. As I said just been good for me so far. Though @peteblue a bit of a cynic! No beret wearing just sharing my own experience mate which I thought this forum is all about.

Cheers Ash - see you get so much stick on here from certain people, but to use a cetain quote " those who understand need no explanation, those who don't understand, don't matter" Some people will always beat you with a stick about vaping, I would just ignore from now on, they won't be convinced and just want to pick arguments. As long as you are happy with it continue!

Very similar to me that mate. No cough. Hardly ever off sick as a smoker, ironically, but stopped, and a few weeks later, BOOM. Nowt serious, but bug after bug after bug got me. 8 to 10 months off and on. Stops as quickly as it started.

Worked non stop, (bank holidays and sundays aside) in a pretty manual, outside job for the last year now, and not felt fitter nor healthier ever. Good luck mate.
