….it came home to me when the family sat down for Christmas dinner and my sister and her kids had ‘nut roast’. Never.
As an aside to that, we invited some members of our diverse family to Christmas dinner a few years ago not really thinking it through.
So one was a Vegan, one a Hindu who didn't eat beef and another a Muslim who didn't eat pork.
Needless to say the wife's head was falling off, never again

I believe the brewing industry utilize fish swim bladders in filtering some of their products, and of course, animal products for shoes and belts and coats and what not. Then there's the, erm, elephant in the room, no not classic snooker where the balls were ivory, but the use of animal testing for genuinely medicinal purposes, then the cosmetic industry. And them chimps didn't always make it back from space. Bit of a hot topic this one. Well, if you delve deep enough.
The animals the US sent up (including the chimps) did make it back from space. The Soviets sent up animals that didn't return (Laika being the most famous).

I've been vegetarian since I was 15 (now 50). Six months ago I was overweight, pre-diabetic and had high cholesterol from too much ale and eating stacks of dairy. Anyway I've since switched to avocado on toast each morning rather than butter, and I've lost 12kg. I reckon I'm vegan about five days per week, it's only if we go out for a meal or have friends over that I'll eat any cheese etc. For example we went to our local Indian last night and my dhal had ghee in it.

There's a growing carnivore movement on Twitter. Basically advocating just eating red meat, eggs and raw dairy and that's it. Funnily enough they're Trump supporters, anti-vax, the usual. At some point there will be a fight to the death between them and the vegans

What I don't get is how they happily pick on the unborn babies of plants and trees and deny them any life. If they were truly committed extremists they would survive sucking minerals. Each to their own though.

Best bumper sticker I ever saw had on it:

"Thou shalt not kill
Eat vegetarian"

Still not sure if it was a joke
(Saw this on a car in America, and most Americans don't understand jokes)

If someone is vegan for ethical reasons I don’t think you can have a leg to stand on if you oppose it. 21st century factory farming is barbaric so continuing to eat sausages without battling with cognitive dissonance requires a lot of ignorance or just general sociopathy towards animals.
ok, but have you considered the ethics of food tasting good?
