I thought he worked hard and it was a good goal but I didn't think he was in the game all that much. We didn't really have a platform in the final third and Jelavic's movement and clever touches where sorely missed in the second half. I'm sure Victor could do a job for us with the options we now have behind him, especially with Fellaini in support.

He came on and scored and had one not given, he has early a starting place for Swansea in my eyes.

Even a blind squirrel gets a nut sometime.

The kid is a terrible footballer; however he has a knack for ripping twine.

Since the start of last season he's averaged a goal every 96.25 minutes. Doubt he could average that playing regular 90 minutes but still the accusations he's got those goals out of sheer luck are absurd and blinkered.

Honestly, if we'd bought him at the same time we bought Jelavic we'd be loving him.

It's the memory of the 5 years without goals before that that's hurting him.

Exactly.

He's suffering from the same case of "didn't live up to the ridiculously high expectations piled on him" that young players get. Happened to Rodwell and will no doubt happen to Barkley too.

If Jelavic is out then we'll have little choice but to start him. In that case I hope he seizes the opportunity.

Otherwise though he's proving to be a fine impact sub indeed. And one I'm quite happy having. Vic of 2012 has been -- and it feels weird saying this -- brutally clinical in front of goal.

Exactly how I feel about him at this point.

Last season and this he's looked a clinical finisher without looking a good player.

Thats enough for a super sub.

If he was as good as you are saying he would have been starting for us every week... he can stick the ball in the net no doubt but as an all round footballer he is badly gash.
