The big difference though mate is he's still young (even though it feels like he's been round forever), and he shows flashed of brilliance. He scored some important goals last year, and as he's young there's no reason to get on the lads back and write him off yet.
Neville, Hibbert, Howard etc, won't improve, but if I was Anichebe playing in a stadium of 30k+ people and I knew they didn't rate me, I don't think I'd do very well either. I just don't see the harm in supporting a lad who could come good.

Meh I'm just some weirdo on the net on the other side of the world, I'm pretty sure my opinion of him isn't going to affect him, I understand what you mean though if people at the ground aren't getting behind him, if I was at Goodison I'd never, ever boo him, I'd support him for sure.
But I'm not, I'm an armchair fan unfortunately, and it's much easier for me to criticize. Like I said somewhere else, I do hope he gets better.

Okay, Drogba done that. Hes not strong is he? Ronaldo done that in the prem, Why does he do it? There not strong HA.

I didn't say he wasn't strong lad. Yes, they're all strong, good for them, not much use being built like Jonah Lomu and rolling around like a WWE wrestler is it?

I'm not a huge Vic fan but he came on the other night scored one that was disallowed, scored another pretty decent finish that should have been the winner , put a shift in as a sub and even (amazingly according to what I normally read on forums ) celebrated his goal like a good un. I'm baffled why his overall performance theother night has put him up for more criticism

Have to agree with this, I wasnt happy when he came on but he done a decent job and scored a good goal. I think with all the upset of how the result went people just automatically jump on his back

Well that's the bottom line really mate. Everyone's entitled to their own personal pet hate player of course.

Mate he was so good Benzema copied his technique and Mourinho copied his celebration!

Those players mentioned scored a few more goals to compensate for being half arsed mate.

I've got an agenda, some people don't like Howard, some don't like Hibbert, for me it's Anichebe. If he scores 10 goals this season (including this disallowed one) I'll run naked through my home town and post photos like.
Which town do you live in m8? Just wondering which city I should stay away from if Anichebe scores 10 goals...

Only 7 to go then.

I've decide am going to give the lad a chance this season and it looks like he'll be starting on saturday so can see for ourselves eh.

Its true, but that is literally all he did. spent 10mins plus without even mentioning his name.. As he's a striker, and he scored then cool, fair play, good game, did what he was meant to but people get on his back because apart from hitting the ball at the net on the odd occasion it falls exactly to his feet we are basically playing with 10 men.
Its been said he is young, but because of that he should be busting his arse trying to prove himself then shouldn't he? I know I would.. Not wallowing around like the world owes him a favor.
He's spent so much time looking like he is forced into doing everything he does against his will I think I have genuinely lost the ability to like him.
He would have to become a seriously prolific striker for me to appreciate him being on the pitch ahead of someone else at the moment.
Takes more than the odd goal to make up for a lack of effort imo.
