They are still good players who will need to be replaced.

Sure its not the end of the world if a "squad" player wants to leave but its not just them is it? There's a lot better players who seemingly want out.

They do need replacing, I agree with that. But you really can't expect youngsters like Gosling and Anichebe to stay content with a place on the bench or a run out with the reserves. They have to play regular and as said, they have about zero chance to get that with us. They have far too many good players ahead of them.

The other ones who want out?

Pienaar, it's all about the money. We either not prepared to, or can't afford the wages he's after. It's a shame he's leaving, but I completely understand the clubs policy on this.

Heitinga, think he believes his own hype far too much. I know Moyes promised to use him as a CB, but he can't expect, to get that spot without competing for it. He wasn't first choice at athletico and now he's not capable of getting in the Everton team. Self criticism in a largely unknown territory for most footy players these days.

The other ones Yakubu, I guess? Was playing alright, before being dropped, but didn't deliver the goals. Think it's time for a major reshuffle in the strikers department. Would only keep Beckford and Vaughan.

I'm not really worried about the likes of Gosling and Anichebe, refusing to negotiate or sign a new contract at Everton. Could that also be down to the fact, that neither of them are actually good enough to cement down a place in the first team? Don't think either of them would ever become more than a bit part player at our club. Rodwell, had no problems signing for us and more concerned about tying down Fellaini on a new long term deal, than I am about Anichebe.

Just think he wants regular playing time and he probably realises, that he won't get near that with us. Can't blame him at all, for wanting out. So good luck with your choice Victor, and I hope you have a good career ahead of you.

Of course your Rodwell's, Barclay's etc sign longer contracts its because they're 17-18 and have been brought up in the academy and in Rodwell's case is getting to play and having his chance. But you must be naive (sp) to think Rodders wont jump ship if a big money bid came at him for a big club if he cements a starting place here - he's too good a player to be here in all honesty.

The thing with Gosling and Anichebe is that they are/were useful players. I know you love Vaughan, but he's never finished a full game and hasnt overally influenced one either unlike Vic has (the FA Cup game against Villa, European games, end of last season, did well in pre season) before his injury. And Moyes does like him, more so than maybe even Coleman on the right (why would he throw him on in the West Brom game when he wasnt fully fit). With Pienaar going, Cahill 31, Saha 32, Neville 33, Osman 30, Hibbert 30 - these young players if they wanted to stay and get into the side with patience would do easily when the old timers clock out.

I guess they want things now rather than waiting.

Get rid. Another who's stunk out the club for far too long.

We need to cull at least 4-5 players, and Vic and Vaughan are at the head of the chopping board.

Cull 4-5 players? Really? Its gonna happen, but we arent gonna be able to replace them unless we have some ruddy good youth players that can play in the premier league.

I largely agree with your points. I think that the likes of Anichebe, Vaughan and Gosling need to bide their time though. All of them have had serious injuries that have hindered their progress. If Victor had stayed fit he would arguably have played in the majority of our games as a bustling right winger. Perhaps he wants to be considered as a striker? In that, respect, as with Vaughan, his chances will admittedly be very limited. Gosling wanted to play central midfield. The fact is that he's simply not good enough to get in ahead of our more established players. I'll be very surprised if he manages to displace Nolan, Barton, Tiote, Smith and even Guthrie in the Newcastle engine room.

It is a concern that we will be losing a number of important players for little or no fee, but what else can we do? I don't think it's entirely to do with money for Pienaar. If we offered him what he was asking for, I still think that he'd want to keep his options open. He's in his prime now and wants to test himself in European football. You can't really blame him for that.

The Yak was our number 1 striker. These days he's lucky to get a run out. He needs to be playing week in, week out.

Should we lose Pienaar, Yakubu, Anichebe and Vaughan before the start of next season then, with no money to replace them, we are going to have to look for other players to make the step up. It could be the making of Bily, Gueye, Baxter and Beckford.

anichebe has missed approx 10 months of football since 2008 through injury.
also in that time there has been 2 or 3 occasions where he has acted like a complete muppet.

for him to turn down his latest contract offer of 30k is a joke.

he's clearly an idiot ,get shot imo.

Many will disagree with you there mate, but I am with you. I see very little in him to justify a place on the bench nevermind a starting place.

Did he really get booed?

he did, and if 30clix aint good enough then he deserved it.
don't expect any loyalty lad from those who dig deep every week to pay to see you 'perform', the time has been there on many occasions for you to give something back, but it seems that all you want to do is take, well there's plenty more that will be heading your way to take.
you're the new jeffers lad

That hasn't been proven yet though has it? I'm sure his people have denied it, and these reports are very recent. Whether you like him or not, he doesn't deserve to be booed. You come to expect idiots at Football games though, it's part and parcel of the game really.

Great loss or not I just find it silly were unable to keep players young or senior. Were talking about 7 players going out by the end of the season with about a return of about £10mill. That's nothing in today's market.

It's a bad situation IMO.

Can you blame them mate? Were massive underachievers - nothing wrong with ambition and wanting to move on. I expect players like Baines and Howard to speak up soon if they have any balls.

Idiots that think they are worth more than 30k tend to stand out in my eyes, I said I thought he was [Poor language removed] last season and wouldn't put him in the 13k bracket, I fail to see what he offers us, I can see what he could offer us, but see an attitude and chip that seem to get under his feet and bring him down at every opportunity*

*cue arms out wide appealing for a free kick when he could've carried on.
