Oxfam records has free delivery this weekend, makes a big difference if you just want to buy one records...plus you get the warm feeling of donating to charity lol

I don't understand the world anymore. (the following is sold and for investigative purposes - so not an advert)

60 notes, sixty! for 'Murder on the dancefloor'. It'll be murder in the DJ booth at costs like this!
I sold a Cathy Dennis (!) CD single for £70 last month

There's no rhyme or reason to some of this stuff

This is one of the best things I've ever spent money on. I used to DJ at free parties and had records that were so grimy the needle wouldn't stay in the groove, and this made them playable out again*. It can't work miracles and it wasn't cheap, but if I ever come to sell my records it will have paid for itself several times over.

*not that I play out anymore. And on the rare occasion I do, it's reggae and not techno.

I've picked up one of them. Lad at work had a relative relocating down under and was getting rid of his hi-fi stuff. The record collection held nothing of interest (virtually all classical) but he was happy with £100 for a nearly new one of these after trying a couple of my records on it. In fact he was split-second clearly surprised and happy with the offer so I think I could have gone in lower

Like you say, not a miracle worker, but definitely quicker and better results than hand cleaning if you're buying predominantly second hand stuff. Slight improvements on most I'd already cleaned by hand and bigger improvements on others. I'm guessing the vacuum really makes a difference. Very noisy though, not for late night use.

Big question is how long the motor lasts if you're buying new. I've read plenty of reviews where it's only done 2 years of moderate use and at £350 retail that's pretty poor.

That's a bargain. They seem to hold their value quite well from what I've seen.

Yeah it's loud as hell lol
