Fortunately, after being rebuffed with two serious bids in the summer, it now looks like we will actually sort it this window. Also, RB doesn't mess about it seems

Benitez has bombed out two players already. James (might well have been going anyway but let's face it, he was bombed out - even if the reasons were valid) and Digne. In both instances lots of fans have backed the manager.

You now have fans who were earlier this week rightly saying Benitez needed to be binned off unless he improves sharpish now giving them his full backing to have full control of the club because we scraped a (deserved) draw at Chelsea.

Our fans utterly hate him and certainly don’t back him, no idea what forum you’ve been reading. About two posters on here back him.

I'll admit my view is blinkered. I've gone overboard in my response to @Saint Domingo - I don't think he's that bad. But I do think he's bad. I do think he's completely wrong for us. I despise his ego. I wouldn't mind if he could back it up but he can't with his recent record. Everything I was worried would happen when he came in has happened. He's divisive, his footy is poor, he won't budge from one idea (not on about a formation here) even when it's clear it only works with certain players.

I find myself agreeing with a good amount of what you're saying, but if he gets another couple of results over the Christmas period, then the chances of him getting booted fall to zero imo. I think that the door was ajar for a short period around the derby admittedly, but you're just going to end up driving yourself mad, because I don't think he's going anywhere fast.

A little bemusing that you, of all people, would think that's something to bring up as some sort of negative character trait.

Turned his back to a lot of crosses, I'll admit, but he was also a baller who could ball...win some, lose some. He certainly brought more to a collective side than most I've seen pass through our doors.

Not something I can comment on with any insight about...for all I know, considering how early on he is in this current path, his agreed service time in that role ended but, supposition is easy.
