This poor young lad might need to be better than Digne at everything, including quiffs! He's already carrying the weight of Benitez' confrontational ways
Hes not going to be better than Digne. Maybe in a season or two he can reach those levels. Digne even this season has higher ratings than him but it is what it is. The lad is young and could end up being just as good down the line but Digne will be hard to replace initially. Just hoping that the new fella has attributes that suit Benitez system better and gets us results

Digne from a couple of seasons ago for sure will be impossible to replace...when he was the best left back in the league probably alongside Robertson. Today even godfrey seem to be doing a better job even though he is not a left back which tells the story...that new guy can't really be much worse honestly than this recent version of digne.

Both Godfrey and Mykolenko have had lower overall scores at LB than Digne this season and that's an off the boil version of Digne. But like I say maybe the new guy suits the system better

*Leicester let one of their aging, better players go for a big fee, replace them with cheaper, hungry, up and coming talent*

Some blues: What a well-run club. Wish we could do that instead of buying 29yr old has beens for 30million

*Everton are letting one of their aging, better players go for a big fee, replacing them with cheaper, hungry, up and coming talent*

Some blues: WHY WE LETTING A SUPERSTAR WHO NONE OF US HAD HEARD OF BEFORE WE SIGNED HIM GO AND SIGNING SOME 22 YEAR OLD NOBODY?? FJHDBHFBHQBABHBQHBFHABHASJDQBDJQA

What do we actually want? Digne still warrants a big fee, and wont in a year or two. This is the perfect time to get rid. Brilliant business by Everton. Credit where credit is due!

I agree that we should sell Digne, but how much of a fee do you think we will get tho? If Digne played for another club, I wouldn't want Everton to sign him.

You do realise that 99.9% of players who have played for Everton in recent time don’t get brought up in the north east of England?
North west? The point I am making is that we have struggled with young overseas players in general, and that there have been very few Ukrainians that made a success in this league. Yarmlenko, Shevchenko both struggled to adapt.
To be fair 99.9% of all our transfers have failed to work out no matter where they are from.

Great point that mate, the way he's played over the last year, if it was for another team, we wouldn't want to sign him

I can tell you the names of at least 10 players from croatia and serbia who left their local clubs very early and played in good european clubs at a great level but there are 0 players from ukraine who left their local club very early and developed well in europe.

it's all about the mentality and psychological stability of the players and ours have not yet adapted for that. they simply fall from one reality to another and, due to their age, simply regress.

but our generation of young players is crazy, they won the U20 World Cup in 2019, so there are a lot of good young players to look out.

Theres Zabarnyi the 19 year old centre back that i know of...

...which other players to look out for from Ukraine?

1. tsygankov (best player of our league, can easily be good from the start at any club of the world, would easily help Everton to move up a couple of positions in pl)

2. mudryk ( something like a Ukrainian neymar, who is marinated on a bench in Shakhtar, this year just started appearing in the start and the Champions League, although the guy's potential is huge, in 2-3 years in the top league he could turn into a superstar)

3. trubin ( after two won games against Real Madrid last year, his price has risen x20 times, the potential is also huge)

good young role players with great potential who could play in england
sudakov
popov
Tsitaishvili

For more Ukrainians, Anatoliy Trubin (20) is the keeper at Shakhtar and has 2 caps. For those wanting a tall keeper hes 1.99 metres / 6'5.

Centre back Ilya Zabarnyi (19) is 6'2 amd already has 18 caps for Ukraine. Playing alongside Mykolenko for Kiev.

Special mention to Mykhaylo Mudryk (20) who was the standout in the u21 age group for the past 3 months playing as an attacking midfielder for Shakhtar.

I mentioned Zabarnyi, Trubin and Mudryk before after a little research. What kind of transfer fees would their clubs ask?

Tsygankov is a strange one, he looks top class but why hasnt any large club bought him?

I'll check out the other three ;)

cause the president of dynamo kiyv is a complete idiot, he usually inflates prices very much.
and I'm just shocked how they sold you mykolenko for 22 million euros, and not asked 35 - this is the first time in the last 20 years that you have been lucky. For example, Yarmolenko was sold to Borussia at the age of 28, because the president overestimated the price all the time. the same situation with tsygankov ( Bayern Munich, Tottenham and Athletico have already offered 20-25 millions, but their bids were rejected)

≈20 millions for trubin (inter is very interested)

≈ 15 millions for mudryk +% (Sevilla is very interested)

? for zabarnyi (Chelsea's offer of 15 million was rejected, but if now someone offered 25-30 millions, the president would not have resisted, but again, I think he will stay in the team for at least 3 more years)
