It would be very difficult to see this as anything other than the final nail in the coffin.

I’m not a fan of either Rooney or Lampard but at least with them you could sort of buy into the possibility that they might just turn out to be great managers. Appointing someone who’s somewhere between a has been and a never was would just kill all hope of us ever being anything more than we are now, he’d be almost guaranteed to last no longer than a year if he was lucky.

It is a seriously grim time to be a blue.

We’re still 5/1 to be relegated if you want to make a few quid out what feels like almost inevitable relegation at this point.

Keep swapping between disbelief, anger and sadness about how badly we’re run and what’s happening to our club.

Sacked in December like Santa

You read up on it?

First stint he finished 2nd and had a falling out with the owner who fired him.

Fenerbache's new owner has had 8 managers since 2018. He's worse than Moshiri. He had them 5th but 14 points from the top of the league which is why he got the chop. However, some fans felt he was trying to make positive changes to the team from top to bottom.

It follows on from Koeman and Silva, no sense as to why any of them ended up here. He makes Benitez look like Guardiola.

Koeman had been on the back of 2 good seasons with Southampton and Silva managed a dead and buried Hull to a whisker away from survival and had started really well with Watford. In summary, they had at least had some positive PL experience.

This guy would be an infinitely worse appointment. Hasn't been remotely relevant in Europe for at least 5 years.
