This was you just this time yesterday as well... shameful.

I've told you, I went down a super deep YouTube hole of lore videos in lockdown.

I was laughing at war dollies and goblin boots when I was sitting in 3000pts of Space Wolves back in 1998 as well. I am merely a recovering addict.

Myself and my mate loved collecting these when we were in our teens in the 90's. Only trouble was, while my mate was a very talented painter, and his figures wouldn't have looked out of place in White Dwarf magazine, mine always looked like I'd used my toes to paint them. I was never really into the serious gaming aspect, though I do have fond memories of playing plenty of Blood Bowl (I think that was the name). On the rare occasion I pass a Games Workshop nowadays, I still pop in and have a browse for the nostalgia. Are they all plastic now? I remember them being decently made lead metal figures, I assume that wasn't the best material choice in hindsight!

The metal was a pain to paint and crazy expensive, like.

As Kwentijn in the shop just told me, they're recycled plastic with a much easier surface to paint now.

I was always crap at painting too. That's what would hold me back, rocking up to games night with my marines looking like I'd dipped them in something.

Someone opened up a warhammer shop in my town recently. Should I call the cops now or wait until I see suspicious behavior?
If its anything like the one near me, it'll already have signs up warning people who don't take care of their personal hygiene may be asked to leave. Suspicious behaviour is par for the course.

The new contrast paints are incredible, make painting so easy and quick. You basically spray the model with a special white, and then go over it with contrast paints of whatever colours you want. The contrast paint seeps into the recesses, shading it and thins on the elevated parts, highlighting it all in one coat.

I may have found a bigger nerd than my 44 year old brother haha!

He is big into this stuff. Not competitive like you mind.

The one difference is you are a blue and he is a red so I respect you more haha!

Honestly I would have pegged our friend @Death. being into this stuff more than you.

There‘S a place on Liffey street that had a big window where they had them games and I use to moon my rear end inat the window as a youngling. If that counts?

I've got loads and loads and loads of Warhammer stuff.

40k blood angel and iron warrior armies.

Still got my epic eldar army which is quite rare now.

I love buying cheap eBay auctions of spare bits and cheap figures. Which annoys the missus as I never paint or play any of it any more. It just goes in to boxes!

I've a lot of figures from early 90's which are the 'lead' figures. A few rare ones too..

Love it all..

When I was a kid, you could buy boxes of plastic soldiers, then paint them, and maybe play with them on a papermache battle field you made.

Thats the same yeah?
