It's what I hate about automatics/mechanical.Just went to get my watch serviced in town. £500.. think I’ll pass.
Can it also effect the value of watches (high end) if they don't have a service record? It's what I hate about automatics/mechanical.
They aren't as accurate, and require servicing.
I would imagine so.Can it also effect the value of watches (high end) if they don't have a service record?
Yes, though a recent service is of more importance than a 'full' service historyCan it also effect the value of watches (high end) if they don't have a service record?
If it's Rolex,AP etc a recent service with all relevant paperwork will keep the price at a premium. I've seen rare Rolex go for crazy prices looking as if they'd been in the bottom of a drain for a few decades. Can it also effect the value of watches (high end) if they don't have a service record?
I did hear that particularly Rolexs, people prefer them with surface scratches etc and not having had them re-polished!If it's Rolex,AP etc a recent service with all relevant paperwork will keep the price at a premium. I like Lum-Tec, but I've finally found a good field watch so can't justify getting another... Or can I???Still find myself going back to my LumTec Combat B53 'Max Darkness' even though it's quartz. Although it can be tough to quick-glance the time off at times because of the colour scheme on the dial, it's built like a brick and keeps excellent time and now that I've got it off their included NATO (way too stiff, went with the ColaReb Firenze Grey leather one ) that sealed it. I may be a stan for big date functions too, I've come to realize. They can be hit or miss with some of their designs, like all watch makers, but I think you'd dig them as your field watch of choice if you did find one you like @verreauxi . Usually limited runs and great warranty too, for those of us in the States...although I've yet to have to make use of it.
Bloody hell, it's nicer than the atrocious Richard Mille things people wear.
Those things look like market tat.
With only 147 being made you will probably find that when he's eventually assassinated those watches will rise in value massively!!Anybody considering purchasing one of these bad boys:
Donald Trump’s $100,000 watches: his tackiest, most extortionate merchandise yet?
He has sold gold sneakers, Bibles, commemorative coins and digital trading cards – and now the former president is flogging a range of timepieceswww.theguardian.com
I find myself liking these Zenith Defy Skyline watches more and more. The small "second hand" is probably the most useless but fun-to-look-at complication ever, as it makes one revolution in 10 seconds. Plus, I just like this ice-blue dial.

This guy does a nice review of it:
