Breguet makes some lovely pieces and the Marine line and the XXI lines are my favorite. I never wanted to own a perpetual calendar as I'd be too afraid the winder would stop (when I wasn't wearing it) and I'd need to send it in for re-calibration. The "equation of time" function is a brilliant complication from a craftsmanship standpoint but needless unless you are a vampire. But let's be clear: what a stunning piece.
I suppose what I was getting at is I'd rather have one piece like that than one of everything between $200-$10k, as you hinted at...which, if it were possible, I'm not even sure is true. It would definitely be a conundrum, for me...Breguet and Lange are holders of my "grails" and you're well above $10k to unlock those doors, unfortunately.
