Watches

I should correct myself...mine's not technically a JDM in every regard as the day display would be in Kanji, instead of Spanish, but it's cased etc in Japan for the US market.

Watches, eh...

Just checked my order and it's for the -K1. However I can't grumble as I haven't even found a JDM version yet, so not like if I'd have paid a small amount more I could have picked one up.

I honestly wouldn't worry about it...the whole JDM thing with Seiko is a minefield. I'm only going on what I can glean from forums and we all know how reliable those can be. I shouldn't have brought it up, it's just one of those things that make me wonder so I've delved in to it here and there.

@The binman chronicles you can burn some brain cells reading the most recent posts in this thread, if you're bored. But yeah, this topic is a deep, dark hole. Seiko is massive so the potential for misinformation is just as big/confusing.

lol It's not my fault!

I should get in to the drugs business....

Model SRPG47, if anyone else is titillated. JDM model (ie. 'Made In Japan' at bottom). I guess there's a K1 designation on some models that don't say 'Made In Japan'...so likely cased in Korea, if you're a stickler for that stuff. Some swear the stuff from Japan is put together better (bezel alignment etc).

The one in the video below isn't a JDM and he had no issue with alignment and good time-keeping.

Seiko's take on "Limited Editon"...only 11,000. Having said that, it does give you a good chance to get ahold of one.

One more photo...silver/white (depending on light+angle) waffle dial.

Love it!!! Amazing dial!

Love it!!! Amazing dial!

According to Seiko's site it's the first 5 series to have a white dial, which surprised me considering how many watches they produce a year...adds to the 'Limited Edition' lark I suppose. But yeah, looks great on-wrist! The silverish-white tone adds a lot on a contrasting strap...me being me, I swapped the steel out but it looks great on that too. It's just sitting on the black Perlon strap I had on my Lum-Tec, for now. Should be a looker on something that matches the bezel.

Met up with my cousin’s husband the other week and really liked the watch he was wearing. A Squale dive watch. I’d never heard of that brand before

They make some cool dive watches and exclusively focus on them. You don't see a lot of them around, but they are decent and have a ton of models to choose from.

Just checked out their website—not as expensive as I assumed.
He has a vintage Corvette Stingray in the garage easily worth over $125k
There were rumours it was the elusive Jaws watch...

Sinn just released a new limited edition of the U1 diving watch (easily the best, most durable/strong watch case/bracelet out there) and I really really want one!

That watch lists for like 200K...I'm gonna list my house for sale.

Breguet makes some lovely pieces and the Marine line and the XXI lines are my favorite. I never wanted to own a perpetual calendar as I'd be too afraid the winder would stop (when I wasn't wearing it) and I'd need to send it in for re-calibration. The "equation of time" function is a brilliant complication from a craftsmanship standpoint but needless unless you are a vampire. But let's be clear: what a stunning piece.

My latest two, both Seikos.

The blue is a Seiko solar PADI edition, I added the silicone zulu diver strap. The other is a Seiko turtle bought from ebay, I added the stainless steel bracelet. Both have drilled lugs so I can mix and match straps like NATO's and such. (I do dive btw).

I will be selling a couple of my others as I do not like to keep a big collection; apologies if that is heresy!
