Watches

Decision made and I took the plunge!
Listened to your guys advice and went bracelet. I came within a whisker of buying the white dial, like it was done and I had a sudden urge to test one more thing: so after asking one guy to put them on so I could see them on someone else it was clear that the blue is me all the way.

going bracelet 100% the right decision.. it even feels good now that they sized it and the watch although “chunky” doesn’t actually wear chunky and you hardly feel it on your arm..

I've got the orange rubber strapped one, feels top heavy for me

Lume is the luminous phosphorescent solution applied to hour markers, I was talking about the over all faux ageing effect with a tropical dial etc
How can a brand new watch out of a factory be vintage?
Vintage is about recreating the look of an older style .e.g. Lume in the kind of colour used originally, styling reminiscent of an older model. Patina/aging for me relates to creating faux signs of age and wear. I have not seen the model in real life but from the photo I don’t detect faux signs of aging or wear and tear?

@BornBlue76 Agreed, always buy it on bracelet (metal band). You can always get several nice after-market straps: rubber, NATO, leather, etc., and then you'll have lots of versatility. I prefer white to blue but only slightly...can't go wrong with either. But if the white dial come with the bracelet and the blue comes with the rubber strap, then it's white dial for me. And you can get used to wearing the bracelet, even if it initially feels heavy.

In fact, this is a totally boss rubber strap that would look great with the white dial.

Here's a blue version of it on one an Omega:

now I’m YouTubing straps.. the official omega rubber strap costs plenty (could buy a new seiko)… those straps look brilliant. Key is not to cheapen the watch with a poor strap. So big price value comparison

I think I would want at least one official omega rubber strap and then can have a lot of generics that let me play around with the look and feel.. anyone have an recommendations for online options the UK would be awesome

Yeah, I agree the official Omega rubber strap is way overpriced, but their bracelet is even more and you can buy good after-market non-Omega rubber straps more easily than an after-market (non-Omega) bracelet. So I still agree with mezzrow that you should buy it on bracelet, and after wearing it on a strap you will end up eventually probably wanting to try it on the metal bracelet (sorry, if this is repeating what I already said).

Watchobsession in the UK is quite good; I've used them to ship to me here in the USA.

Strapsco.com (which is based in the US) will ship a low prices to the UK.

Interesting factoid is that only two watches were worn on the moon
One is the beautiful Omega you’re showing but there was another ……. A Bulovs nonetheless
I’ve got that one and it’s awesome with an interesting backstory
I’ll post a picture and the backstory tonight if anyone is interested

Holy Cow! Looks terrific. I'm glad you went with the bracelet...that rubber strap I posted a page or two back should work well with that (via strapsco).

Wear in good health!
