Wayne Rooney

That all depends how much money it would take, but the spike in revenue and interest in us would be huge leading to a much more attractive proposition for sponsors if we played it correctly but with our marketing prowess we would probably balls it up.
I think United would take £15m for him next year..

He'd drop his wage demand for us too.

We would be mad to spend more than 5 million - anything more than that should be invested in a good young player with potential. Plus of course he would need to accept the 75% wage cut.

Anyway. It's embaressing for everton that the media and others think we would be so happy to take him back-implies we are some sort of third tier team grateful for cast offs of other clubs.

The documentary was really interesting, I think he'll have more value as a coach rather than a player in a couple of years - United will know this too, however I really suspect Rooney will want at some level to be part of EFC again. Free transfer and a route into coaching would be the perfect fit.

If he carries on playing like he is currently then United will want to ship him out in the summer. LVG was pretty ruthless in showing Van Persie the door and doubt it will be any different for Rooney, especially as his captaincy makes benching him far harder.

If that happens then it depends on Wayne - do he and his family want to move abroad, which is probably the most lucrative move, or cut his wages by over half and play for his boyhood club. Thought for sure it would be the former but he's certainly beginning to signal that he likes the idea of coming back.

Lids who genuinely think he would take a 75% wage cut to come back to us so he can compete with Steven Naismith everyweek

He'll be off on the American football gravy train liek all the other has beens, he's already intimated that's he intention. About time people realised money is more important than Everton will ever be to him

Tbh it probably wouldn't be as high as that since it is unlikely anyone is going to pay his current wage if he moves from United so the comparision would be with what other new clubs would offer.

Gerrard is on $6m, roughly 4million pounds a year, with LA Galaxy and he is the leagues second highest earner.

The question is, is he washed up or is he just on a poor run of form? He is not that old, but there are a lot of miles on those legs.

I don't want him back for sentimental reasons. Only if it makes sense for us financially and I rather suspect we'd get better value for money elsewhere. With his wage demands anything more than £10m would be too much.

It's unrealistic and romantic thought that he would be back. If he would, though....instant cult status would be carved into the stone...but like many have said it here before he'll be off merica...I'd say after 20 months

To be honest I wouldnt take him back, his legs have gone plus I wouldnt give him the satisfaction of playing in an Everton shirt again. Would love him to have that tiny regret in him. Are we really that desperate to take him now because he no good for man u. Let's have some pride. Let's send a message out to Everton fans ,yeah you can give your best years to another team and we will take you back when they don't want you anymore.

Don't think he's that type of person to take a massive paycut and rejoin us. He would want to squeeze all he can from his career - he knows there's not much left.

He'll end up at MLS. That's nit even debatable.

So where would Rooney play? Man u fans say he in rapid decline and sometimes offers nothing in games plus also slows down the play.
They say this is down to his body is struggling with the demands of playing at the top level. Have anyone seen the threads about Rooney by man u fans. They have been watching him and concerned and yet on here believe wearing a everton shirt will cure him, too much money to take the gamble on him for my liking.

Play him in the hole.
Drop Ross back to midfield
