If it's next year, sub 20m fee, and he takes a pay cut then it'd be great. Not at the end of his current deal or at his current wages. He'll come over to our shores though

If we got him back though that would mean Kone gets dropped for good and then we can't sing the ole ole ole ole koneeee koneeee song.
It's a no from me

He has so much money that he could do anything with his life.

If it really made him happy to come back and play for us for £80k per week then he could do it.

I'm not so sure that he and his family love money as much as say the Beckhams.

I doubt it will happen but it wouldn't shock me.

I actually think it would be a great thing for him and us.
To be fair to Beckham he donated his entire PSG wages to charity and seems like a really good guy the amount of charities and such he is involved with. Other than that I completely agree with everything else you said. Doubt it but wouldn't be shocked.

Yes.

Sell Lukaku for £30 million, use that to buy Rooney and we instantly become a better team.

Oh my.

Really....oh my.

So we sell a young, improving striker for only £2M more than we paid for him, and spend that on someone who is the wrong side of 30 and who has his best days behind him? Intriguing Brendan, very intriguing.

All Rooney-related threads need to be banned.

He is not coming back to us at least until his 300k per week contract at United either runs out or is terminated. By the time that happens, he's going to be too old to be of use.

Besides, Duncan's testimonial was a nice occasion for him but Rooney is still the definition of a Judas. He left us for money and trophies and while nobody can blame him I will be absolutely disgusted if he comes back to play for us.

Buy Rooney and pair him up with Lukaku and we'll be contenders!
