He can do a job, much like Williams has done a job this season. It's distinctly short term but it raises our profile and no one can convince me otherwise that Rooney can't play for half an hour and put away a chance.

How exactly does it raise our profile?

Formerly good player waddles off into the sunset to play with his former club before retirement.

I've seen enough, you don't lose that ability. You lose speed and the ability to recover in time to play 3 matches in 7 days. Rooney never had the pace to lose. (Slight exaggeration but you know what i mean)

Rooney's problem is that he is always to be found running back to his own corner flag instead of being an in the box striker, united have more pace and usually a top striker anyhow. I'm sure he would do better in this team behind Rom if told to stay in the opposition half.

i dont want him anywhere near the club cos he completley done but he would definately boost our profile which is why i'd be happy to sign him as some sort of mascot.
even if you compare twitter followers he has 14.4m and everton only have 1m
