Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

In terms of what they are supposed to do, I'd suggest that assist/chance created per minute that Bolasie and Barkley are doing very well this season.
Chances created per 90: Rooney 2.22, Barkley 2.60, Bolasie 1.76
Key passes per 90: Rooney 1.74, Barkley 2.36, Bolasie 1.41
Assists per 90: Rooney 0.48, Barkley 0.25, Bolasie 0.35
Goals scored per 90: Rooney 0.19, Barkley 0.20, Bolasie 0.09

If Bolasie and Barkley are doing very well, then Rooney is doing very well as well.

Again. There are other players in the world....
Who exactly? Rooney is a star, maybe declining, but still a star. If we can get a star, especially for a good price, we has to try to get that star, we are not Man Utd or Chelsea to pass on a star. Plus he has two big advantages: he is a blue and he has great marketing potential.

He played every game in a poor league in his favoured position whilst Rooney was playing midfield!! My point is play Rooney in the number 10 he provides lukaku with so many more chances and goals!!
That's fair, I also thought the same but he's come here and continued to succeed in this league. Whereas Rooney has got worse and worse, Even LVG was shoehorning him into a holding midfield role.

He is not a star any more, he is certainly no blue and he has minimal marketing potential once he leaves United....

I give up.

Can i just boooo instead? We all know where we stand then.

Booooooooooooooooo!

He wants first team football, I'd prefer our players who are on the up, not a last chance saloon for Rooney to get to 2018 WC. The thought of Lookman or Barkleys progression being stunted by Rooney ain't for me.

If he wanted to cone he should've forced it in either of the last 2 windows, but the Million a month off the Mancs is too much to turn down.

What will be interesting is what Rooney does in the Summer, apparently the option is his on a final year at UNITED next season, if he exercises that option and in turn force Everton into a transfer fee he can GTF.

He's a greedy has been IMHO. Don't want him.

It'd be like signing a much more expensive version of Mark Hughes, Gazza and Ginola.

We'd just get very little back for a massive outlay in wages.

The only people who'd benefit are the grannies in that knocking shop on Aigburth Rd.

Swerve at all costs.

Yup this basically.

If he was 25-26 I would get it. Even up to 28. I wouldn't be happy with it but I would understand it.

He wanted the United scoring record. It's more important to him than little old Everton.

Boss fan though. Top blue.

As soon as SSN mentioned Rooney I knew this thread would be top of the index.

I'd maybe take him on a 2 year max deal. No 6 year deal, put it that way. Would he go for pay as you play? Probably not.

He is not old, he is 31. And the Club needs to sell it like. I can see Bill Kenwright saying things like this on the press conference when introducing him: "We clearly weren't good enough to keep Wayne here to allow him to achieve such a great things like winning the league or even the Champions League. Now we are on the way up. Wayne is here to help the Club to grow into one of the biggest's on this planet to ensure that future generations of Everton fans can realistically hope for the biggest things season after season. Wayne is here to help us create the mentality of winning, the mentality of success, the mentality where our next generations will want to spend their whole careers to achieve everything they want in their football careers. Our son is back."

I think it makes perfect sense. Rooney was hopefully the last talented Toffee to ever jump to another English club. This should be the message.

thankfully I don't get drawn in by crap sales pitches
