Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

He would obviously. The question is would he improve us more than bringing in two others instead for the same cost who have a higher ceiling to improve us over five years instead of two max.

2 year contract, 1 year playing while the nippers watch & learn, 2nd year taking a back seat while bedding the nippers into the first team. Such an intelligent player and can still shift when he needs to.

Anyone saying he's finished is deluded, and anyone saying they don't want him back because he kissed a badge 9 years ago because he was getting dogs abuse needs to grow up.

No mate, he is finished in that he's nowhere near what he was and will only get worse. Yeah, he'll improve our squad for a year, but he's not the only person on the planet that would for the same money he'd cost.

I'm not really bothered about his past. What I am bothered about is that he'll be one of, if not our highest earner, and wouldn't necessarily be value for money in my eyes.

It's a regressive signing, unless we really do have money to burn.

Can you think of anyone else that will offer the leadership, winning mentality, quality and experience that would come to us, for a relatively low transfer fee? (Surely sponsorship and advertising would contribute to wages?)
