Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

Can't get near United team who are 5th yet we will spend ridiculous amounts in the hope he can do a job for us. I think this shows that our ambition is not what we hoped it would be.

If he came I would want it to really work out and would back him 100% but I think this is a decision made with the heart rather than the head.

Sorting a couple of centre forwards is more important.

I don't particularly want him back as it happens but you could , and some did , post the same about Schneiderlin.

Swinging like a palm tree in a hurricane over this one.
Part of me would love to see him back on a free for a season or two. If nothing else, his name alone will attract others to the club and if it doesn't work out, China or USA beckons
On the other hand, he may well be finished at PL level so will be taken wages that could be used elsewhere and blocking a younger man's route to the team.

Of course he may start banging them in like the Auld Scrubber of legend

I would have liked to see him here at the start of last season. Now i'm not bothered either way, if we get him on reasonable wages for a year it would be ok.

Would only take him on a free if Utd buy out his contract. Would be a useful squad player especially with us having EL. I would fear him starting for us though as we need better quality than him in the starting 11.

Could someone tell me, is he really injured at the moment or is he just absolutely woeful?

I suppose both could also be an option to that question.

Nah. Spurs bought son as a backup option, kane got injured, son filled that void and they won every game kane was missing I think.

You build a squad by buying a squad really. We'll buy about 5 players for the first XI this summer anyway, which will also make players like mirallas which will fit with what you say, which is the ideal way. But we still need to buy able backups for players like Coleman, who we won't be able to better.
You build your squad by buying starting eleven players. The players they replace go to the bench, or leave. Only the elite teams can afford to sign filler options.

They bought Son to start in the attacking midfield. He took a while to settle so wasn't looked upon too good. He has settled now and playing very well whether or not Kane is playing. Is he dropped when Kane plays? No, his role in the team changes.

You think a team like Spurs can afford to buy a great player like Son as a squad player?

I think he was bought as a squad filler, just my opinion.
To step in for alli or eriksen, along with lamela. Janssen was supposed to be kane's back up.

The can afford to do that because they got players like lloris, alderweireld, vetonghan and eriksen for such bargains. I wish we could attract such talent because we're in a similar position as they were then, I still don't understand how they attracted that calibre, but there we go.

To build a squad I think you need to do a bit of both of what you say and what I say.
