Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

I'll lose faith in the club if we bring him back. I have nothing against him put he's just obviously finished.

Would tie in with the Lukaku staying till Christmas rumour going on around here a couple of weeks ago, to see if we have a chance of top 4. If we are not in the top 4 by then, Lukaku sold in the January window.

I don't want Rooney back but that is the only plus, that Rom may stay but even then i don't think he would. Oh well have to just wait and see

Why do most people assume he'd be
A positive influence on the young players if he came back? In my eyes he's achieved all he's achieved in the game through his freak like talent.players wanting to make it in the game can't look at his dedication away from the pitch and think they are sensible guidelines to follow. He dosnt strike me as a role model in how to look after himself. If anything the youngsters are just going to look at him and wonder why Gareth Barry is 5 years older than him but in better condition.
Talent alone isn't enough at the top level. I'm sure his signing would have some off field benefits but they shouldn't be a reason for signing him.

Brutally true.

Sadly I think everton transfer window is doomed this summer and this is an expensive/desperate act by the club to save it.

The window hasn't even opened yet and you've labelled it as doomed!
As Kammy would say UNBELIEVABLE

State of some of these threads 7th best team in England and making noises that we are trying to kick on but hey let's not let that get in the way of kicking OUR club, board, staff, players current and possible incomings.

Fear for some of the guys mental health on here, be strong and POSITIVE.

Rant over........... might regret this but 2nd coffee before 9am has kicked in.

He is better than kone and antonio valentia and we need a bigger squad for playing in that europa cup. He would do for a couple years and would still bang goals against lower teams. We probaly need to bring in 2 front men. 3 if lukaku leaves. Do people think we can bring in 3 better than rooney?Cuckoo land.!

If he's available at a knock down price and wages aren't astronomical I'd say it's an absolute given that he'll be coming here. Koemans "I'm glad he hasn't gone to China as he can still play at the top level" sounded to me like Ronkoe telling him to hang fire. The same with Walsh's comments and that Sky Sports day they openly spoke about Wayne as if a deal had already been reached.

If he does come, he'll have a very short of amount of time to win the fans over because if he comes here and looks as washed up as he has the past few games for the mancs then he won't be getting much game time.

Still, a fit, fighting and hungry Wayne Rooney would walk into our side because he has something 90% of our players don't have which is game intelligence.

I think our problem is that for the first time in years,we'll be competing with the big boys for players,
Unfortunately for us,we'll miss out on our first choices as the key positions we want are the same as the teams above us,
As long as we end the window with a bigger and stronger squad, that will be an achievement,
It's a project, one that will take quite a while to get where everyone wants.
Expectations have to be realistic,
If we qualify for Europe off our own back next year, that will be a massive achievement.
