Totally agree this is Everton 2017 we are looking to build a squad and Rooney could be highly influential part of that squad especially with the younger players.

Is he better than our current number 9 not a difficult one for me.
 
Wait and see IMHO. The same source said Schmeichel was "done", and he's been utter gash recently. Will believe it/both when I see it.
 
If any club & set of fans can get the fire back in Rooney's belly, it's us.

There could be a number of reasons he hasn't been at it this season. Played out of position, bit part role etc. Think before we write him off we see how he looks after a good pre season.

He'll clearly have a point to prove, and we may be the benefactors of that

problem could arise though if he is declining as rapidly as it looks like he has been at United, by the Summer he may not be very much use

additional problem - it could very very easily be a 'marquee name' signing which is used to whitewash an otherwise underwhelming transfer window.

IF he arrives and its followed by some real quality and peak players and some very rated younger players then yeah no problem, but do you have 100% faith in Everton that this will be the case?

Don't forget 'Usmanov 1,000,000% by last Christmas'. 'Lukaku to sign new deal'. And I can quote more.
Problem is, he tells supporters what they want to hear, so they call him an itk.
 
I honestly can't figure out the negativity.

Some are talking as though he's 45 years old!

  1. Better than Kone/Niasse/Valencia
  2. Early 30's
  3. Raises our profile
  4. Winning mentality
Stop bothering yourselves with fee's/wages. We have a management team and board to decide on his value. That's why they have their positions in life, and we're here banging away on our keyboards. (Apart from Elstone, that's a complete mystery)

This is my concern. We get fat old Rooney and a few hacks but people are celebrating because he's a proper blue and all that twaddle.
 

So I guess with everyone saying that Ron wants to play a 4-3-3 formation, Wayne (if this is true) would play the wide ,technical forward in that front three?
 
Still a good player, should be the one chipping in with goals apart from Rom and if he leaves united he wants to come here, instead of top players who probably go elsewhere like Sandro and many more
