Could he not just say to his agent "I want to go to Everton " ? , seems like anyone knocks us back or leaves we do everything we can to explain it away or blame somebody in the background .

I believe he told his agent just that. It is now the agents job to try and get the best deal. This is why I reckon the recent stories of not wanting to take a pay cut and not moving away have been released. I believe Rooney would come back for any wage (within reason) but as I said the agent is trying to maximize his 30%.

He's set for life, we will pay him enough to get by but money is all footballers care about.

Spot on. His agent will do everything within his power to find a more lucrative deal "for the player". He is a gold digger of the highest order. Wayne will only end up at Everton if it's financially the best (or more likely only) offer on the table.

So let me get this straight, it's not the greedy grasping toads fault it's his greedy agent. Tell me , when will this player be old enough to make his own decisions? Or is he just a simpleton?
