You never had the ability to play for them (I assume...)

Now, if today you stopped following Everton, started supporting Manchester United and kissed their badge in front of all your Everton mates whilst slating the people who most influenced you in your formative years of being an Evertonian in a rubbish book then yes I would say you are no longer a blue.

But you didn't do that because you would never do that because you are a proper blue right?

If my 'mates' were hurling abuse at me constantly I would do something that I knew would wind them up... if you are talking about Moyes then that was between them...personally prefer the way Rooney did it, publicly and with profit for the club...Moyes, quietly with no compensation for the club and then putting us down once wearing red...

He will be steady Eddy.

Cheer up, don't let the hate consume your tortured soul.

If he comes back he will be sound.

Ha hilarious we sign a fat has been, who our former manager sued successfully and gave the proceeds to charity and we want him back ?
Typical Everton ......
I am quite chipper Thomas, no hate, no torture, perhaps you should stop being such a `doubting` Thomas ........... Thomas

Not in my opinion he lost the below litigation ..... the loser !

Lawyers for the Manchester United striker said he "sincerely apologised" for any distress and embarrassment caused and paid "substantial" damages and legal costs thought to be worth more than £500,000.

It is believed to be the first time a Premiership manager has sued one of his former players for libel and a settlement was reached before the case was due to come to trial last month.

Rooney conceded that his former manager had not leaked details of a private conversation to the press about his reasons for transferring from Everton to Manchester United in 2004.

In his autobiography, Wayne Rooney – My Story So Far, published in July 2006, the footballer said he had told Mr Moyes it was because of intense press coverage of his personal life and the effect on him and his fiancée Coleen McLoughlin.

Details of this conversation appeared in a local newspaper the next day, and Rooney pointed the finger at Mr Moyes.

The manager launched legal action against the footballer, his co-author Hunter Davies and publisher HarperCollins Publishers Ltd.

Edward Parladorio, representing Mr Moyes, told judge Mr Justice David Eady at the High Court that when his client joined Everton as manager in February 2002, Rooney was a 15-year-old "rising star" in the youth team.

He said Mr Moyes managed Rooney for three years until the striker left for Manchester United in 2004.

"The book accused Mr Moyes of a serious breach of trust towards a young player under his management. In fact, the allegation was wholly untrue.

"Happily, Mr Rooney, Mr Davies and HarperCollins Publishing Ltd appear by their solicitor to acknowledge that they were mistaken and publicly to withdraw the allegation and apologise.

"The defendants have also agreed to pay Mr Moyes a substantial sum in damages and his legal costs."

Sarah Toolan, representing the defendants, said: "All defendants accept that the allegation was untrue and sincerely apologise to Mr Moyes for the distress and embarrassment caused."

Afterwards, Mr Moyes said in a written statement: "I am glad that these issues have now been resolved and that my name has been fully cleared in this matter.

"Anyone who knows me well would, I hope, regard me as a man of honour and integrity. We have now moved on and I wish Wayne and his family all the best for the future both on the field and off it."

He said his damages would be donated to the Everton Former Players Foundation.

You started it though by jibbing your mates off!

Personally I wouldn't do anything like that being an Everton fan but each to their own.

I was talking about Colin Harvey more and his totally ignoring of the part played in his development.

Not a Moyes fan by the way but he was the manager at the time.

Gary Speed showed how to do it the right way. Kept his stuff to himself to protect the club, proper gentleman and true Evertonian. Rooney likes us when it suits him.

Like most of us on here?

He played seconds in that Europa league final. I guess he still got the medal but did he even kick the ball?

He's been finished as a player for over a year, a dramatic fall from grace from England captain to not in the squad and suddenly he wants to come back. He's not good enough.
