I believe Rooney will be back in the England squad and team immediately.
It was difficult for Southgate to include a player who was not getting a game with his club.
England are very one dimensional in their play and badly need the craft that Rooney would bring.

The same is true at Everton, Rooney is not being bought for his ability to sprint it is his football craft that the manager wants.

He's only 31 so I should certainly hope so. For whatever reason, Moaninho seems not to rate Rooney, and rarely gave him a full 90 minute run out.
