Transfer Rumour Wayne Rooney

On what is anyone basing the statement "his legs are gone", what does this even mean? He is a professional athlete who is 31 years old and is capable of playing 90 minutes of football (more than Deulofeu could manage according to many on here). Yes he is not as quick as he was, his football brain, vision, passing and finishing were always a more important part of what makes him a great player. If his legs are gone, our legendary medical will surely pick this up!

talksport last season he played a game for unt v West ham - the moose stated how sad it was to see a legend struggle with his movement and get subbed as he was finished as a player!
look lets see - he could have one good season and help on the coaching side - we got one good season out of Barry , but imo he is now a millstone around our necks!
I hope Rooney proves me wrong, if we keep Barkley then he could be a great asset in RoB s development!

Well if the moose said he is finished he must be.

Moose is barometer of someones fitness too right enough!!!

If we pay Rooney anywhere near 150k per week and give him a 3 yr contract then we really do deserve all the laughing gifs in Twitter.

Can he even play a full 90 mins?
Last season he played 39 games and 2415 minutes, which looks like he was a super sub as it's an average of 62 minutes. In truth Mourihno subbed him off in the last few minutes in quite a number of games and brought him on for the lst few minutes in others, driving down the ave mins per game (played 25 minutes or less in 10 games).

He actually played 90 minutes 13 times, 89 minutes 4 times and 80+ minutes 5 times = 22 appearances over 80 minutes

Not that many?

Lets compare to our new striker who we have all been crowing about, have his legs gone?

Sandro played 31 times 2402 minutes, higher average minutes (77) but less playing time overall and he wasn't subbed on late in matches to drive down the average.

He played 90 minutes 17 times and 80+ minutes 4 times = 21 appearances over 80 minutes (1 less than Wayne and he played 8 less games in total).

I really am intrigued as to where the idea that his legs have gone comes from?

So the 'evidence' is the commentators remarks from one game? Ian 'moose' Abrahams who so accurately predicted Readings relegation from the Championship last season?

It means he lost his pace - and can't run as well as he could!
Unt dropped him - England dropped him - get the picture?
maybe he can do a job for us but returning players never do!

Shearers legs went quite early as well.

They just adapted his game to his strength of scoring and it didn't do him any harm

Rooney is as good a striker of the ball as sheared was as well.

Stop with the evidence. You are making yourself sound silly.

His legs went about 10 years ago, you'd have to be blind not to see it.

Even though he largely carried United for most of that time before he got bored of being overlooked and given the thankless task of the utility player for the last 5/6 managers he played with (including England).
