Is it too soon to be looking at Rooney? It's inevitable that Man Utd would look at him in some capacity soon enough. Has he shown enough to be ready for Everton?

Why?

How about just keep benitez. Let him actually bring his own players in and see how he gets on. Why keep putting the club backward 2 steps.

Benitez has come in, he's got his foot in the door now, he knows what we need to change and what we need to do to improve. He's only now making his first real money signings in areas we all knew needed improving. I have absolute faith he knows how to take us back to where we want to be but he's not a magician, he just needs time. Sacking him would be the worst decision the clubs made because it would be massively unjustified.
You have absolute faith, that he knows how take us back to where we want to be? You poor deluded numbskull, the only place this manager is taking us to is the championship. Hiring him in the first place, was the worst decision this club ever made.lol

Give the job to Potter, he looks like a cool mod, likeable chap and if he was Spanish he would already be here. The waiter looks like a waiter neither cool nor likeable and he can't win a game of football. If I was appointed to the board of Director that would be my view anyway.

The problem is we take a manager like that, they have a premier league win rate of 28%. Similar to Marco Silvas at Watford, Roberto Martinez at Wigan. We would be playing attractive football and excellent XG and winning about 12 or 13 games a season, mid table ( we won 13 games last year and finished 12th)

My point is these guys get “bigged up” at these teams because the expectation is low. We are in the situation where, as an established premier league team, the expectation is higher. So these guys are really set up to fail. Silva and Martinez both had higher win rates at Everton than their previous clubs, but got sacked. I don’t think Potter would be any different

Right that’s it. I’ll give it a go if you’re behind me? And for just 20% of the money he’s on.

I don’t know what made me spit my beer out quicker - hearing he got the job in the first place, or hearing that Blair had been awarded a knighthood - it really is in the same astonishing realm of ridiculous nominations - as he is now proving.

Am a bit busy til the summer but can come up from 8th June onwards and I will give it my best shot including taking a poll from fans in all signings and the starting lineup for each Saturday (or Sunday or Monday in prem)

We need that managerial bounce you get from sacking your awful manager. We’ll get that with this team if Benitez got the boot. We’ve had the defensive managers, the Martinez football ways, apart from martinez first season, it’s all been. A failure. I’d love us to appoint a manager who plays attacking football, a manager who goes at teams at home, and gets in players faces when away. Benitez has 1 game plan and one game plan only, defend.

Rooney is doing a decent job.
With a lack of other options, he is an option
He has to be given credit. Had opportunities to jump a ‘sinking’ ship after their points deduction, but stuck with it. Were mid table before points deduction, with hardly any money, any squad, and what squad he did have was just youth players. Playing decent football and giving themselves a chance to stay up. Isit too soon however? Still better than Rafael though.

This is what I hope for in the coming months, that we concede far fewer goals and become more solid defensively. Here I have full confidence in Benitez.
We’ve played 5 defenders at home and conceded 3. What’s next, 6 defenders?
He’s playing so defensive to stop the conceding we’ve forgot how to attack and win games.
