Who's the best band you've seen live?

The best gig I ever went to was an NME one in 97 or so: Pavement, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Broadcast and Mogwai. The Astoria I think. That's an insane line up for the price of 10 quid.

But the single best live show I ever saw was G Love and Special Sauce at Glastonbury 95. Mind blowingly live changingly incredible.

It’s hard to get away from Springsteen &The E Street Band , but back in about ‘76 the original Genesis with Peter Gabriel at The Empire were fantastic doing the whole Peter Gabriel stuff. It was a good year , a few months later Emerson, Lake and Palmer were literally (!) blowing everybody’s socks off with the sheer volume of noise they produced. Happy days.

The Prodigy knebworth (before the legoheads came on) - music for the jilted generation/some new songs from fat of the land which came out a year after.
Kings of Leon Cambridge corn exchange - Youth and young manhood
Radiohead Earl’s Court - Hail to the thief
Primal scream Brixton Academy - xtrmntr
Lambchop Shepherd’s Bush empire -aw cmon no you cmon
Arcade fire Leeds festival - funeral

Musically stand out as the best I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen lots and lots.

Prince- Wembley arena 92 -possibly enjoyed his piano playing more than his guitar playing. Incredible on both fronts
Julian Cope- Royal court 92 -Peggy Suicide tour
Jazz defektors - Can't remember where in Manchester with my brother possibly 1990. Tripping off our faces. Just how bloody good is watching a bloody good drummer live. (especially on a really good acid buzz).
Ry Cooder and David Lindley - Glastonbury also 92

loads of gigs
But after Roger waters then Floyd in the 80,s
Loads of others too
I’m going for the incredible Steve Marriott from the Small faces
at Hardman house circa 89 I think?
What a night that was !
