Who's the best band you've seen live?

The Muse were fantastic live, so many bands, The Christians in inishowen , only about 500 people at a local bar, sounded great. Simple Minds in Belfast were brilliant. Aha in Dublin , U2 a few times in Dublin, they can put on a show. Simply Red in Dublin were fantastic.

Muse are my favourite band, saw them live loads of times. Best one was the Olympia in Dublin at the tail end of their Absolution tour, can't remember the year.

One of the best gigs I've been at was also in the Olympia, Hall and Oates. Apparently they'd never played in Ireland, absolutely tore the house down

I couldn't hear my wife chatting for about two days after Muse concert, which ain't a bad thing. Marley park Dublin, sweet jesus their loud, 2008 if I remember rightly.

Glastonbury 2004 for me. Seen them close to 10 times, but first was the best.

Almost impossible to call over hundreds of gigs, but with a gun to my head, for the sheer essence of rock & roll, at its most raw and simple - Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, mid 2000's, summer night, baking hot Trinity Centre in Bristol, fueled by Red Stripe and shots of bourbon. Came out with my ears ringing feeling absolutely filthy.
Band.

If we're taking away bands.

Seeing Wiley (MC), rusko, caspa and Benga at the cellar in Oxford - the first dubstep night outside of Bristol or London was something

Seeing Holly Johnson on Sunday Brunch this morning reminded me of this. Musically it was horrible, but the atmosphere and occasion truly were life changing for me and my music culture. Sadly it was my only experience of Eric's but it will stay with me forever.

The band themselves really were horrendous. Terrible songs that were completely unrehearsed. I believe it was their first gig and it showed. But nearly all the members went on to have stellar careers in the industry. Go figure.

Few good ones include
Blur at the MEN. Late 90s ish?
Seen em a few times, but The Libertines in 2004 in Manchester was full on and chaotic.
The Raconteurs doing their first ever live show in Liverpool.
Stone Roses at Heaton park in 2012, on my birthday. Proper festival atmosphere.
Lots of good Glasto Festivals, and every couple of years tend to watch Pete Tong do his Ibiza classics sets with a full orchestra, as is always good value.
