I saw Depeche mode twice, the first time was brilliant, second time after I saw them was after Andrew Fletcher died. it was a great gig but sad at the same time.

You’ve just jogged my memory - saw them at the Manchester G Mex in 1993 ( now gone )

Up there with the best I’ve seen.

Springsteen and the E Street Band are brilliant every time. I agree with the o/p though, the War on Drugs are absolutely superb, they are the band I listen to more than anyone, saw them in Mountford Hall the other month and they smashed it out of the park.

Elton John, 1994 at Fiddler's Green in Colorado - timed "Don't let the sun go down on me" with the sun setting over the mountains directly behind him. Fantastic show.

Recency bias but I saw Godspeed last month and that was up there as one of the best. Very intense - playlist hit perfectly.

Greatest star performance I've ever seen is the White Stripes years back in Glasgow. Like seeing prime Hendrix or something, it was that sort of level. Cavernous barn of a venue and Jack White made it feel like a packed club with 50 people.

Godspeed most intense for sure.

Nope, just her and a massive stage. she climbed it, went under it...everything lol. Its a very basic stage too. she sometimes sang back stage and then came out in a new outfit.

she only had people with her when Robyn and co came out.

On a different note have you seen any of the new series of My Brilliant friend? Two episodes in and at the moment it isn't doing anything for me. They've changed the actors again and the spark has gone. There hasn't been much interaction between the two main characters yet in fairness so I'll probably give it another episode. problem is there's so much other good stuff on at the moment.

energy levels off the charts and sweaty fans jammed in like sardines being worked into a frenzy by a band at the peak of their powers

mayhem ensues toward the end of the show when Shane collapsed off the stage and had to be hauled away by the security team, the band just kept playing, unforgettable night....
