Who's the best band you've seen live?

Springsteen and the E Street Band are brilliant every time. I agree with the o/p though, the War on Drugs are absolutely superb, they are the band I listen to more than anyone, saw them in Mountford Hall the other month and they smashed it out of the park.
Weird, I was crazy excited for war on drugs but found them very bland live, must have been an off night.

Saw Kele Okereke from bloc party do a solo gig years ago in a tiny venue and he bought everyone shots beforehand, great energy and s great night.

Worst I've seen live were Dylan, Artic Monkeys and MGMT

Super Furry Animals - always brilliant whenever/wherever I saw them.
Blur - Manchester MEN around 1997/98 I think. Great gig.
Cast - Royal Court around 1997. Really good venue at the time. Remember being blown away by 'History' live. May not have been the best stage performance ever or indeed a particularly great band but it was just a really good atmosphere and sounded great in the moment.
PJ Harvey - a couple of times over the years and was superb.

Also seen Korn, Iron Maiden, Rammstein, Pantera, Slipknot and a few others of that ilk. Not bands I was massively into enough to know the albums but a mate of mine is a big metalhead so I always went along for the night out as I like them enough to listen to. Always brilliant shows.

The Jam - Deeside, Royal Court, Manchester, Paris
Oasis - Knebworth
Killers with Johnny Marr & Pet Shop Boys - Glastonbury
Rod Stewart - Madison Sq Garden NYC
Eagles - Manchester

2 nights in a row in Nov 80 with Everton v Spurs in between and mayhem at Deeside. That was a proper weekend.

The Muse were fantastic live, so many bands, The Christians in inishowen , only about 500 people at a local bar, sounded great. Simple Minds in Belfast were brilliant. Aha in Dublin , U2 a few times in Dublin, they can put on a show. Simply Red in Dublin were fantastic.
Not a big Muse fan but saw them at that open air gig they did on Teignmouth promenade a few years back and that was good

On a different note have you seen any of the new series of My Brilliant friend? Two episodes in and at the moment it isn't doing anything for me. They've changed the actors again and the spark has gone. There hasn't been much interaction between the two main characters yet in fairness so I'll probably give it another episode. problem is there's so much other good stuff on at the moment.

I've not managed to start it yet, due to as you say. Plus, I'm finding it difficult to find all the episodes on torrent. What is that site you use again, 6movies.net?

I've seen plenty of people say the same about the changing actors tho and that's not quite the same. I assume there must have been a big jump in the books or something

It's on Sky. Not sure which channel . Hydra HD is the streaming service I'm using now.

The characters are older but not so much that they couldn't have used the same guys.

Queen then followed by Queen and Adam Lambert. Forget Rogers and Queen just not a good fit, technically voice wise Rogers was better singer than Queens original deceased singer... Have seen few in-between Queen, from George Michael to Metallica.

Came here to say these guys. Me and some mates saw them at the MEN Arena (is it still called that?) but I know some other folks who saw them at an intimate club show before the Mutter album came out - and the associated xXx fame - and they all said it was the best night of their lives.

It’s a really tough one to say who the best is, but for an all round show I might have to say U2 at Cardiff Arms Park on the Zooropa tour. It was more than just the music. Standing right at the front with band only a few meters away probably helps!
A random one was when a few of us went to London to watch Red Hot Chilli Peppers at Hyde Park (it was crap!). The night before, we heard that Razorlight were playing on a pub roof not far away, so when checked it out.
Had a great night, ended up in the pub drinking with them, they were sound despite what’s said about Borrell. The next morning they played CDUK on ITV… then they got big for a while!

Well, I don’t like to do “so and so is better that’s and so” so I’ll just mention some of my favourite experience.

Metallica were excellent and I saw ZZ Top twice and they were great too. Billy Joel was superb and The Eagles were brilliant on the five occasions I’ve seen them. Joe Walsh alone is worth the admission fee, and the tour where they got Bernie Leadon to rejoin was great. Special mention to Michael Buble who we saw before he was huge, he was really entertaining and nothing like the Mr Xmas he’s turned into. And I have to mention my friends The Lancashire Hotpots, who are all actually from Merseyside bar one.

Oh and my band, we’re great every single Thursday at all good venues.

Jam - Setting Sons Tour (Blackburn King George's Hall)
Squeeze - Farewell Tour (first of many!) at Lancaster University
The original Two Tone tour - again at Lancaster Uni
Madness (Preston Guildhall)

All around 1980 - 82

Various artists at Wigan Casino (1975 - 1978/79)

Oh, and Girls Aloud at MEN Arena - with my two youngest daughters because their Mum was unable to make it. Hard sell to be honest 😜

I think RHCP could be the worst (professional) band I've seen live. It was at Reading in 2005ish, they were horrendous
