Cite the evidence he has said that
Does it really matter? He can say anything. As this is all media speculation he's probably said nothing. If it does go through we would only have clarity after the end of a full season with both clubs showing their completed accounts.

Yes it does matter. I want to know where he is citing this claim that "nothing changes" is from

He isn’t spending the best part of a billion quid to buy us just to feed a Europa Conference League level club in a dead league with no money in it.
Perhaps you are going too far. It's true that serie A is light years behind premier league, but it's the third league in the world nonetheless.

As for Roma, we've surely had better days, but "conference league club" is unfair. We won conference league 2 years ago. We're in Europa league since 2022. First year we lost the final against Sevilla, second year (2024) we lost semifinal against Bayer. We're definitely above conference league level. And the management's objective is Champions League, which is doable and could already have been achieved by winning EL in 2023 or this year if Atalanta lost their last match. We're really close.

Despite playing in a League which is a shadow of its former self, not owning our ground and not playing in Champions League since 2018, our revenues in 2023 were close to 300 million euros. Not bad I think.

I'm sure neither Everton nor Roma could play the part of the feeder club. It would be disrespectful to their fanbases and overall a very bad business decision, as both clubs have great potential and deserve to be developed.

This is just to say that sure, maybe Everton has even greater potential, but Roma isn't as small as you think.

more importantly, champions league and "success" is MUCH more acheivable at Roma than it is at Everton.

It is devilishly difficult to know whether he is buying us for our history, fanatical fanbase, world class iconic and original stadium, and massive massive headroom in our football and commercial performance from which he would multiply his investment if he has half a brain in his organisation.

OR for the constant stream of galactico superstars our youth setup chums out each year which he could mercilessly export for buttons to propel Roma to European glory and dominance. Not forgetting our flawless, 100% hit-rate scouting network.

You forgot the pies...

Let's say Roma is easier to develop on the pitch. We're already near the top 4 and the financial resources needed to make a step further are limited, given the relative "weakness" of the competitors and the league as a whole. Two good transfer windows could be enough not just to get UCL football but to start competing for the first place. On the other hand, completing the stadium project will be difficult and take time. And the league as a whole won't help revenue growth.

On the other hand, Everton can be easily developed outside the pitch, but the high level of competition in the premier League might make things difficult on the football side.
