Two days after the game (March 26, 2010), the ECHO reported: "Everton FC fan and Merseyside property tycoon George Downing was unceremoniously thrown out of a Man City directors box after the game on Wednesday.

"Mr Downing was a guest of Everton FC at the clash when he made a joke about fans singing “2-0 and we’ve spent f* all” which appears to have been taken the wrong way by Man City chief executive Garry Cook.

"After the 2-0 Everton win at The City of Manchester stadium multi-millionaire Mr Downing and his wife were told they were no longer welcome in the box and they left.

That was a good birthday. My 40th.
Amsterdam in spring is lovely 🌞🤪

And now I'm dreaming of the opening game at Bramley Moore being preceded with a Spitfire buzzing overhead.

Myers wrote on X on 8 June: “And another contender appears! I understand Dan Friedkin has expressed an interest in buying Everton Friedkin is current owner and Director of Serie A side Roma He is reportedly worth $6.1b and is a hugely experienced businessman, in the motor, hotel and film industries.”
Somebody who sacked Mourinho ! Still, I guess that is most owners now.

The point is that Bell and Downing whilst not having the experience of running a sports club are fantastically successful businessmen in their own right.

Everton needs to be run as a business and these 2 will not only do that but as life long fans will have the best interest of Everton at heart.

The difference in business acumen between them and Kenwright/ Moshiri is night and day.

They can be very sharp minded and successful in their chosen fields.

But remember, this is a totally different planet to their business experience.

I'm baffled why people still ask him stuff/listen to anything he says.
There's a whole social study to be done around the Eskimos and his influence over them.
It's bizarre.
This isn't me having a pop at Esk btw, just the whole thing fascinates me.

Because he's the:

"EVERTON FINANCIAL SPECIALIST"

how he spun that to the media I will never know. He should be a publicist.

It would only be A.

Myers also said on Twitter they'd only be providing funds to purchase.

Basically the same as they did with Burnley.
So completely opposite of what The Esks says, I wonder who to believe.

Remember, these situations can evolve and change very quickly

Last night he was adamant MSP had agreed terms.

I think both MSP & the 2 Evertonians have agreed terms.

That is a total guess. Now i think Moshiri is going through the proposals.

That's what I was saying when the news broke around Dell.

I figured if he wanted to buy Everton, he'd just do it himself.

The headlines seemed potentially disingenuous to me - "backed by". I figure that could be like me going to view a house and telling the person selling it I'm backed by Santander.

VS
Textor

Theres only Textor and MSP with any sports investment experience.

The two Evertonians may have passion but zero experience in this field.

The way I would want the 2 Evertonians is if a Dell related business came in as a shareholder with at least 10% equity.

Otherwise it seems a risk.

Doesn't Friedkin as Roma owner count as sport experience ? A few years anyway.

If you look at those quotes (posters have added in this thread) from Esk it certainly seems like he is in favour of the Evertonians.

He is also inferring that the arrangement is going to be far more 'hands on' by the Dell related merchant bank.

The part I cant understand is he references "Sports management experience" which I cannot see that they have anywhere.

My first thought with all his posts about 777 is that he must have a reason for instantly wanting the Evertonians.

That to me is a GINORMOUS red flag.

If as you say the "backing" and The Esk comments are being fed to the media then I would rather we stay well away from the Evertonians.

Anyone the Esk backs should instantly be viewed as suspicious.

Cant just use the experience as a bad thing in the takeover agree they will need backing from another party with more money. But just because have experience does not mean the right people to buy the club. Moshiri had experience at a club in arsenal and was the wrong choicr looking back now. If it is the two blues they will have experience bringing in deals they could also bring in a ceo with this experience
