why are we so dull to watch?

It's the personell.
75% edited 90% of the team are slow, unathletic slugs.
Why do we expect the team to play fast pacey football?
Literally only Godfrey appears capable of sprinting.

If I asked 10 bass players to play Hendrix style solos, they wouldn't be able to do it.

Somehow every week we are all surprised when they stroll around unable to sprint and being second to every single ball.

Because the only time we have a successful string of passes is when we loop it back in our half or just kick it side to side. Also nobody off the ball makes any dangerous runs. They all stand still with a complete absence of movement. By the time we plod down the field the other team has already mobilized and prepared for our doddering attack.

Except they didn’t nearly get relegated.

Allardyce and Silva both finished 8th but you’ll say Carlo has improved the squad.
We were in the relegation zone when Koeman and Silva were sacked. Big Sam has an argument as our most successful manager post Moyes. But the football was much worse under him.

Bar Arrigo Sacchi’s AC Milan teams managed by Italian mangers are generally not a good watch. Being risk averse comes naturally to Italians with their emphasis on being watertight defensively.

Even Carlo’s Milan team with a prime Kaka and Pirlo were more machine-like than eye catching. The Italians are responsible for the Brazil national team adopting a more pragmatic, defensive Italian style after Tele Santana’s majestic ‘82 Brazil side of Zico, Socrates, Eder, Falcao lost to the smash and grab Italians. Brazil unfortunately then went for the Italian ethos of success over style. The Brazil team that went on to win the ‘94 World Cup with Dunga as captain are not loved in Brazil, but the ‘82 team is.

Mourinho is also from the Italian school of pragmatism, and the stuff his teams have churned out is largely forgettable.

Two reasons
1) the team is ridden with homesickness. We have a team with members from far-flung locations (eg Snail Keane is from Burnley). It's hard to be exciting when you are miserable

2)most of the emphasis is on the team's commitment to community duties (particularly those in connection with Blue Chrimbo events). It is hard to be exciting when your thoughts are elsewhere eg what pixie/elf outfit to wear at the Chrimbo panto, or to wear to visits to orphanages and the like.

All in all, I think our brave lionhearts do pretty well. They are not on huge salaries...I know that people like Tiger Woods, le Bron James, Messi etc have incomes which dwarf our mighty lionhearts'...so I can understand their being a little miffed at having to struggle (relatively speaking) financially.

But our club is a sleepy giant and I still think we will be the next club in the PL to win 10 titles

NSNO forever!!!
