why are we so dull to watch?

Two reasons
1) the team is ridden with homesickness. We have a team with members from far-flung locations (eg Snail Keane is from Burnley). It's hard to be exciting when you are miserable

2)most of the emphasis is on the team's commitment to community duties (particularly those in connection with Blue Chrimbo events). It is hard to be exciting when your thoughts are elsewhere eg what pixie/elf outfit to wear at the Chrimbo panto, or to wear to visits to orphanages and the like.

All in all, I think our brave lionhearts do pretty well. They are not on huge salaries...I know that people like Tiger Woods, le Bron James, Messi etc have incomes which dwarf our mighty lionhearts'...so I can understand their being a little miffed at having to struggle (relatively speaking) financially.

But our club is a sleepy giant and I still think we will be the next club in the PL to win 10 titles

NSNO forever!!!
There's several posters on this board where I pretty much never have any idea what they're talking about. Of these, you are my favorite.

You have to imagine that having your two first choice midfielders, striker, goalkeeper, 3 of your 5 back up midfielders unavailable due to injury and the subs bench filled with u21s without an Everton appearance has to impact on passing and attacking fluency somewhat

Our team is rubbish but for 3 or 4 players. Even more so when we have a lot of those first team players out. Poor mentalities, weak, feeble, half arsed, non-committed, no team cohesion and I also get the feeling with this squad that there is no team spirit, apart from a few of the defenders.

Fluent flowing football... no
pacey players or pace in our attacks... no
dominating games... no
entertaining certainly not...

apart from the derby, spurs (fa cup game) and the west brom game v 10 men weve hardly got anyone out of their seats.

why are we so dull to watch

Speak for yourself lad. Whilst inconsistent I think we are a good watch this season and play some decent footy. We obviously manage games better than we have and play in spells. But when we play we look tasty.

Apart from the games when half the starting XI is missing, of course

Bar Arrigo Sacchi’s AC Milan teams managed by Italian mangers are generally not a good watch. Being risk averse comes naturally to Italians with their emphasis on being watertight defensively.

Even Carlo’s Milan team with a prime Kaka and Pirlo were more machine-like than eye catching. The Italians are responsible for the Brazil national team adopting a more pragmatic, defensive Italian style after Tele Santana’s majestic ‘82 Brazil side of Zico, Socrates, Eder, Falcao lost to the smash and grab Italians. Brazil unfortunately then went for the Italian ethos of success over style. The Brazil team that went on to win the ‘94 World Cup with Dunga as captain are not loved in Brazil, but the ‘82 team is.

Mourinho is also from the Italian school of pragmatism, and the stuff his teams have churned out is largely forgettable.

Ancelotti broke the goals record at Chelsea i think

And him and Mourinho played electric stuff with Madrid

Obviously Madrid, Chelsea and Everton are different beasts but he can coach attacking play

Our football is stuck in the 20th century. Most top sides these days play quick incisive football on the deck and commit 7or 8 players in the the last third of the pitch whereas we just concern ourselves with trying to contain the opposition and nick goals from high balls forward.Ancelotti is yesterday's news and big Dunc has hanging around the bench far too long without influence.

People moan at Ancelotti but once on the pitch those players have to take some form of responsibility to perform, they simply aren't brave enough or confident enough on the ball, hence passing around the back or passing back all the time.

Besides Coleman, James and out of form Richarison, nobody has the courage, nor maybe the talent, to take the ball, run with and be counted.
Passy, passy passy FFS.
