Wildlife in your Garden

There is an incredible amount of Starlings around at the minute, more than I have ever seen.

Any particular reason for this?
Probably just a local anomaly mate. Make the most of it.
"Long-term monitoring by the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) shows that starling numbers have fallen by 66 per cent in Britain since the mid-1970s. Because of this decline in numbers, the starling is red listed as a bird of high conservation concern."

There seems to be two particularly large groups of them, both basing themselves around the local football pitches (about 500 yards apart). Once something spooks them into flight it is an impressive sight.

Those starling 'waves' are an amazing sight!
Biblical flocks roost under the old Runcorn Bridge every night, it`s an astounding sight, as they all mob up before heading under the bridge.
One of natures most beautiful sights.
