Would be north of 15m for certain, likely around the 20m mark.

Which is ridiculous really as his contract allows him to never have to play for them again if they do t get promoted, so he can literally just spend the rest of his contract getting loans with Leeds never recieving any reimbursement due to his contract stipulating no fee has to be paid for the loan (whoever gave that contract at Leeds was insane btw)

Which is why we won't mate, with us never even trying to offer Leeds a permanent deal, we know that we can simply have him in essence on a free transfer as long as Leeds fail to get promoted.

Given his contract is until 2028 with them and that clause is permanent so can be activated every season by us, we can simply loan him for the next 3 seasons after this and have had him for 5 years at the club (until he's 31 years old) without ever paying leeds a penny for him.

Very clever dealings by Thelwell and think the player knows the score as well.

Holgate has completely lost his way which is a massive worry. 2 real disappointing loans last season must have most clubs looking at him thinking "nah, he's not worth taking a punt on with the wages he's on".

If he does go, I reckon we'll need to be paying a huge chunk of his wages.

Yeah the most likely scenario is a loan with us stumping up around 70% of his wages
 
If we want him that much surely by now we know what Leeds are looking for. We can either do a deal or not. There has to be some haggling but between last year and this if they can't work out a deal by now when can they? I don't see a stampede of interest for him.

This just seems time wasted for no result.
