The women's achievement in this tournament is unparalleled. It's genuinely the best they've ever been and the trend appears to be rising, so there could well be a sustained period of success ahead of them. They deserve all the plaudits for their victory and should celebrate to their hearts' content.

Anyone who wishes to make it MORE and argue they're better players / more skilled than male players winning euro u20s or WC u20s? Nope. Sorry, don't agree. And more importantly, that lack of agreement takes absolutely nothing away from the achievement because, as you pointed out yourself, women's teams play against women's teams.

It doesn't require at comparisons at all. I don't know why they keep getting made.

"Skill" is pretty subjective though. If you are talking technique, touch etc then of course there will be some women players who have better technique than men. That's not something based on physicality by and large.

But it really doesn't matter like you say. Enjoy it for what it is, the comparisons will always ruin it.

For a level of football on par with the mens conference that attracts an attendance of about 200 (generously), yes.

It's only going to go up too.

Most clubs rightly see it as a long term investment. I think in 10 years time there will regularly be attendance figures above 5-10,000.

Can’t speak for most clubs but ours are fairly cheap, it’s usually free for members/season ticket holders for the men’s team and around £8 for non season ticket holders
