Worst act you ever saw live

I know someone who was a roadie with Ginger Baker in the very early 70s, maybe the Airforce period, he said he was one of the most ratty voilent nutters he ever met, full on headcase, amazing drummer though, im actually suprised he lived as long as he did as he seemed totally wasted and messed up as late as 69 with the drugs
He did a documentary on Cream not that long before he died, came across as an angry bitter character.

That ‘Beware of Mr Baker’ documentary is a fascinating watch

Saw him support Dylan in 1998. He sang every song a million miles an hour. At one point he walked off and the band continued playing for a few minutes before he came back on and grunted his way through the rest of the set.

Talking of Dylan seen him 11 times. On two occasions it was shocking. Greatest songwriter of all time (in my view) and it was shambolic. But 3 of times Ive seen him I’d put them in my top 10 gigs I’ve been to.

Both Dylan and Van are just how I like my musicians.
Sadly live performance wise Dylan has slowly faded over the years . At times he just seemed to rock out the numbers at the same pace , same tune , then he’d do something extraordinary, fade back to ordinary and then rock it back up with Rolling stone. I can remember seeing him in Glasgow maybe 10 years ago , and thinking wtf is going on , this is awful, then it all went quiet and it was just him , a white hat and a piano doing Workingman’s Blues #2 . Sublime, and made up for the rest.

He deliberately ruins songs at times. I’m sure of it. Then will produce pure genius. His shows are fascinating. It’s like watching someone create new songs there and then. Going to see him twice at the end of month as figure it could be the last time he comes around.

Badly Drawn Boy at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. Damon arrived on stage about 5 mins after his band, he was completely hammered and couldn’t stand up properly.

After smoking a spliff and attempting to sing a tune he collapsed. The band played on for another minute or so then just got off and left him lying on the stage.
That white widow is dangerous kids.

Went to a filming of the pub landlord they tried to stop me leaving. Was about 3 hours long, Jason Donavon was a guest. It was boiling at utter garbage. I left in the end they weren't happy.

Also went to see that little bald headed guy with glasses who wears clothes with big collars. Was in the pub by the interval. He did a TV show I think reviewing TV programmes he was terrible
That'll be Harry Hill. Ad that's quite the description.

No mention of M.Manson, surprised by that. Saw him support Rob Zombie and he was effing terrible, turns out he's also an effing terrible human being

'Troubling'.

Snow Patrol live were pretty dire. Tended to be drunker than a pirate at most gigs so was never a great judge

The one time I saw them live they were quite good. Maybe you were extra drunk that night.

The only truly bad show I've been to in a long time was Kurt Vile and Courtney Barnett. Barnett was great as always but Kurt Vile was horrendous and hogged the show with his crap mumble songs. Plus it was in a cramped old theater and some muppet with a giant Pharrell hat was sat right in front of me so I could barely see anything. Worst part was there was another band in town that night we really wanted to see but passed it up for this.

Also, Death Cab For Cutie is so much worse live than on the record. They just blast everyone with noise in the live show for no reason and wash out their own songs.

Don't remember their name, it was an opening act at a festival about 30 years ago.

Hold on, might remember...have to Google.

Yup, that's them...Greta. Singer wore a dress on stage; got booed so bad he got pissed and lifted the dress up to windmill everyone. Needless to say, beer in plastic cups flew after that.

Ha! Brad Wilk was in that band; went on to play bass in Rage Against The Machine. Don't remember the exact year of the festival, so he might've skated by then.

But yeah, they were shiz.
