Yakubu?

I think Yakubu is a great player. When Boro bought him from Pompey I almost cryed at the fact we had missed out.

These prices are too low. Benfica won't part with Fernandes for 8 Million no way. Yak would be great upfront with AJ and may be the most plausible of the two. But don't hold your breath. I just can't see either one myself not with who the past summer Davey has been connected with for a small outlays. I really think the Baines deal was somewhat financed selling BT.

So unless we are mortgaging future TV money I have a big grin on my face I love the talk but I can't believe anything backing this story up. Porto did buy out the rest of Luchos contract but laughed at the 11 Million we offered for him. Not long now for this circus to come to a close. I still remain with a faint hope of a addition. Just adding Vogel would be great in my opinion and remember Davey said one more signing not two. He was looking for loans two weeks ago. I go on his word every time over the glad rags.

Yeah but, he may be talking up the no-money-have-to-loan-players to stop us from being held ransom. I think it is all head games and David Moyes is getting very, very good at playing them.

We have sold a number of players as well so have recouped a decent bit of money between Kilbane, Davies, Naysmith and Beattie. Around £10 million between those lot.

On a side not it's interesting to see Pienaar included in the '10 to watch' list compiled on the BBC site.

Benfica were asking £8M all along, the 12 was in euros. Lets not forget the Echo and BBC have reported these as actual bids, the club didnt announce the Gonzalez bid, but we know they did bid as it was officially rejected.

Irvine himself did say they needed to look at the striker situation now that
Vaughan is out, and its always been known we were in the market for a good midfielder too.

I dont think its too far fetched to believe its true.

Well I hope your right and I am wrong. No doubt about it. If truely these two came to us we would have Champions league in our grasp. Hats off to Moyes if he pulls this off. I'll stay on the sidelines routing for him.(y)

We ain't got the money to bring both of them in, but as BT has gone, and Vaughan being sidelined, i'd go for Yakubu, i can really see that partnership with AJ being something special.

According to that article:

"The player has a deal with us and it does not enter our plans to see him exit this summer," a spokesman told Sky Sports.

Everyone knows they've been trying to sell him since last year, they want to cash in, thats why their asking so much. If they did say this then its just to get more money.
