2018/19 Yannick Bolasie

This person hasn't played a single minute of pre-season so there's absolutely nothing to suggest Silva would contemplate playing him even if all our wingers were injured. I genuinely think he'd play Digne on the left wing before him. The fact he's leaving the club in any way at all is a result.

Not in Silva's plans that is for sure. So best thing is move him on.

Nah, Southampton paid £20m for him.

Liverpool, like most top clubs, don't loan out players like that. They only loan out for development, not to just "get off the books".

3 years difference.

Ings significantly more injury prone.

Liverpool signed him for £6m, he played about 10 games in 3 years an sell him for £20m.

We sign Bolasie for £25m, one bad injury, plays every game when fit - we loan him out.

Sure, a lot of differences but for me it's indicative of how poor we've been shifting players.

Loaning a 29-year-old 'proven' premier league player out to a championship club isn't cause for celebration or "a great day".

Wonder how many deals involving loaning out the deadwood contained an obligation to buy?

Think Brands must do that from now on.

So Bolasie is 3 years older with only one less knee ligament injury than Danny Ings, and who exactly do you think is going to pay money for him?

Mate, Danny Ings hasn't really kicked a ball for 3 years because of injury.

Whatever way you spin it, the point is a player knackered with injury can still be sold. A few teams wanted Bolasie before the window closed.

Getting sick of loans for 30m pound players

They have already shown they have no intention to buy.
I agree but we tried selling him and had no takers. So next best thing is to loan them. Anywhere but here.

It'll take years to clear out Koeman's/Walsh's mess.

everton flanker? jeez.

i agree with GOT here, right now he's better than all our backup win options imo, he's more proven than lookman anyway, but it seems silva rates lookman higher, which i can accept.

he could still be useful for us, but for £15m or so we should sell. I think it'd be better to keep him until jan and then look for a perm sale as i actually think he'd do alright under silva.

Hopefully there's a recall option in the loan, if boro aren't going to commit to a buy option. But why would they/ he could be horrific for them, only a team as desparate and stupid as soton would agree to that clause.

Season loan, buy on 1st July 2019

We had a few mate, but Bolasie opted to stay put... wonder why?! *cough Tony Pulis *cough.

We'd have more in January when desperation hits (relegation worries/championship promotion chasers) - Bolasie after a few months on the bench would be easier to shift.
