Personally I think he was bought to appease Lukaku and stop Rom from leaving. Palace took us to the cleaners but he can be a monster at times.

Now he's out for the season, Koeman will go all out to buy Depay in January

Koeman namechecked him a few times at S'ton as a player he likes.

So no @Khalekan - as sensible a poster as you are, I very much doubt it was anything to do with the £23m fee.

He was playing because he fit the mould for Koeman and was in better form than our other wingers (not that that is too hard atm mind).

That spot is now up for grabs and one of them has to perform to take it and keep it for the season.

They're playing in teams that have scored goals for fun like.

Okay then. Less assists than Zaha and Payet, whose teams can't buy a win.

And players who play a similar role as him at inferior teams (the likes of Matty Phillips, Redmond, Stanislas, Lanzini, Chadli, Anichebe) - they are all outscoring him by a minimum rate of 3 to 1.

Compared to some of our other players, hes done okay. But compared to the rest of the league, his output is poor. Questioning the signing is fair game I think.

Same true with Crystal Palace fans? I recall a few on here talking about his final ball letting him down.

Lies, damned lies and statistics.

He attempts more 'chances' (and by whose definition?!) than most - as I was saying before, sometimes a chance isn't on and that's fine - keep the ball. Bolasie has a tendency to just hit and hope - it'll work sometimes, but the bigger picture isn't great.

Either way, in my opinion his performance as a whole for Everton have been underwhelming - Bolasie hasn't offered any more than what Deulofeu/Lennon offered in spells but then, it's all about opinions and football fans have a very selective memory.

Nailed it.

The last thing this manager needs to do now is go out and spunk another £30M on some boastful no mark. We already have Mirallas, so that position is filled.

Wilfried Zaha, 2 goals 5 assists. And a few on here said they were glad it was Bolaise we got and not Zaha, but funnily enough Palace fans said they didn't mind Bolaise going, but would have been gutted to see Zaha leave.

Sad that he's out injured, but one thing that will come from his time out is that we should see Del start games, and get more game time, so it's going be interesting what he does compared to Bolaise, it should put to bed if Bolaise is as good as some make out, and his importance to the team, if it turns out we miss him big style, then I'll be the first to put my hands up.

You're missing the point. I've said on here a number of times that I don't dislike Bolasie and I think he's done well in spells. Assisting is good, yes we agree. What has been said many many many times though, is that Bolasie having assisted more than other players may well have more to do with the fact that we constantly give him the ball and ask him to do so, far more than we do with any other player. The argument is that were we to ask Deulofeu, Lennon, Barkley or Mirallas to be the focal point of our attacks, their stats may be just as 'impressive'. Alternatively we could tweak it so that we were attacking in less one dimensional way, and the whole team could benefit.

This.

I'm pretty certain in some cases (not all) with Bolasie, it's down to fans having pre-conceived ideas and not willing to admit they may have been wide of the mark with them.

Regardless, he's injured now, so hopefully the people who come in for him perform well, and ideally better.

......sometimes an unfortunate period out with injury can be quite timely. Fans forget latest performance and the player can come back rejuvenated, he might even be effective off the bench.
