Yannick Bolasie

I begs to differ.

You're talking about a manager who broke S'ton's transfer record with Tadic, IIRC, but dropped him when he lost form.

Bolasie hadn't lost form, and his playing had nothing to do with money.

Stop being like Dave. Not everything is a conspiracy.

Koeman simply preferred Bolasie to the alternatives. Based on what we've seen of the alternatives this season and, in fact, for the past year, I don't blame him.

Jesus, if that's Bolasie in form, we really are in trouble.

It is a sure sign a fellow is losing faith in his own argument when he is reduced to taking cheap shots at a person for no good reason.

I am merely saying I disagree with you, Toff.

IMO Bolasie is not a good player and we should never have bought him.

Koeman would not be the first Everton manager to have bought a player whom was not very good, would he?

Every manager we have ever had, including Catterick and Kendall, made mistakes in the market.

So I am sorry....just because Koeman happens to like Bolasie does not sway me in the opinion I held both before we bought him and having watched him this season.

I don't think he is very good.

And I remain convinced that the only reason he was an automatic starter was because of the price tag he carried.

Simple as.

Try and learn to live with the fact not everyone agrees with you....instead of rooting around for all sorts of reasons to rubbish the other chap's opinion.

Or to be downright insulting to me as were in that highlighted sentence.

The way you go on and on about ol' Four Assists one would think we were talking about Messi or Ronaldo

It genuinely wasn't meant as a cheap shot so I apologise. To yourself and @davek

And no he (Koeman) wouldn't.

But I can't accept that argument about the price tag. If Del or Lennon, for example, had come in and played brilliantly, but then been taken out for Bolasie, then by all means, there may be something in it.

The fact is that they haven't. They've been dreadful.

I just can't get my head around this thing of 'Oh, Deulofeu, Lennon and Mirallas are the answer. Not Bolasie' - these are the same players that have failed us miserably for the last 18 months, but seemingly are much better than a player who has been here four and has had an impact already?

I understand not everybody thinks that way, and that's fine. But when I see a reasonable, passionate fan such as yourself use the 'playing because of the price-tag' theory, then I find it hard not to bite back - it's ridiculous, IMO.

You have put forward plenty of better arguments as to why you don't think Bolasie should be first choice :) but I think that one is scraping the barrel.

Never say sorry to David and his clones, they are on the wrong side of history.

Sometimes injuries force the manager to stumble upon something better. I remember when Arteta was shipped into the middle of the park under similar circumstances.

We won't be a worse team without Bolasie. At worst someone will come in and do exactly what he's been doing. Hopefully his absence encourages better build up play and maybe more of a goal threat from that position.

Assists:
Bolasie - 4
Lukaku - 3 (one for Bolasie)
Barkley, Gueye, Holgate, Mirallas - 1

I sure hope we are better without him!!!

Bolasie has been one of our best players this season but because of the fee when we got him many wrote him off before he even had a squad number and now wont accept they were completely wrong.

We are going to miss him but what this will do is force Koeman to make some changes to the overall play, which might benefit us, Bolasie has been doing well on his own but the side organised by Koeman with one up front with no viable system as failed badly since West Ham. Now he has no choice but to make changes.

Another thing that this injury might do is put a rocket up those at Everton who are responsible for signings, cant have a repeat of the suummer now.
