Young EFC Players Out On Loan 17-18

It's unlikely that Onyekuru will still play games this season for RSCA.

Coach of Anderlecht (https://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20180509_03505107): "We're evaluating their condition daily, but their injuries were severe and the recovery will take some time. We won't take any risks with regard to the WC. Playing games for Anderlecht may not be possible this season, full fitness for the WC should be possible." It's for the coaches of Senegal/Nigeria to decide if they want to select a player that hasn't played any games (for the last five months)

What is the status with Onyekuru? If he plays WC will he get work permit and play for us next season?

Tbh at this point I think it's all rather academic. Would be quite a surprise if he's in the Nigeria selection, why select a player that hasn't played a competitive game in five months? He'll probably be out on loan for another year imo.

I think the rule is for players from nations between 30-50 and under 21 you have to play 75 percent of the games over a 1 year period for auto-qualification. I imagine playing in the WC would give some extra points though, so might be useful for that. However at this point I think it's irrelevant.

Wonder if Connelly could serve as cover at right back (and other positions) which would allow us to loan Jonjoe out to a prem club down the table. Love JJK but he's obviously not taking minutes from Seamus and a season playing cup games and the odd start here and there isn't the best way for him to progress at this point IMO.

Barkley was 19, this lads 23/24.

Absolutely pointless deal. No better than Keane, Jags, Holgate, Mori or even Williams. Given that CD is one of the positions we’ll be looking to strengthen in the summer, this is just throwing money down the drain.

Who the hell sanctions these deals??
Defensive players mature at a later age and playing in a mediocre championship defence may be good experience but not easy.
I have seen him play on SKY a couple of time and he seems quick and athletic, it may be that they feel he would offer options in different positions.
We get some calls wrong but generally they are good at this.

Look at Lingard or dare I say it Osman for examples. Why waste milions for a backup player if you can have one from within? He could be useful and I bet he's contract not costing us that much.

Everton is making a lot of weird decisions but this ain't one.

Browning and Galloway were higher in the food chain than this lad and I wouldn’t want us to keep them for back up or otherwise if they are not good enough

Williams and Jags may well be out of the door. Mori may not want to play for us. That leaves Keane and Holgate (both injury prone) as our CBs. It looks as though we’ve picked one out of Pennington Browning and Galloway for a new contract. It’s also the same one Koeman gave game time too. Someone somewhere must have seen something in him to tie him down because we’re usually not slow in cutting players loose at that level (Connor Mcaleny and David Henen aside)

Only logic here is that he will be 4th choice and we will have a huge clearout of centre backs. otherwise would have just sold him to leeds.
