Yeah he's definitely slow to react but i'd also say he's quite slow to cover ground. He can probably hit a decent mph on the speed gun when he's in full flow and running in a straight line, but he has very poor acceleration and isn't able to run quickly diagonally for example, to cut out a pass...

Fair point but I think it's partly because Arteta was a player easier on the eye. He looked like a good player, whereas Gueye is very much a water carrier, and not everybody appreciates them. Not saying you don't by the way, just that some obviously don't.

I know everyone keeps saying this and i'm in a minority of one, but personally I think a left footed wide player is something we're seriously lacking. It would give us much better balance if we had the option of somebody getting wide and putting crosses in if needed, instead of constantly trying...

Yep, said it at the time and it's only become more obvious since. All those people who said we wouldn't miss Barkley were so far off the mark it's unreal. He was a long way from perfect but we could really do with a player like that now.
