6 + 2 Point Deductions

I think I am just as worried about the compensation we might have to pay. There is precedent, West Ham had to pay Sheff U for the Tevez scenario. We have an owner who has checked out, trying to sell to a group of conmen who probably don’t have the money, how are we going to foot a multi million pound bill?

They say FFP is to help clubs financially, all the while they are crippling us financially
They wouldn’t get close to £100m each. Price to 777 reduced and difference used to fund compo. Given Mosh’s culpability he should fund entirely himself and the “company” should not. The compo isn’t a sporting penalty so there would be no need to punish the club and ensure its club funds that settle it. It’s purely to put those that lost out back to where they would have been. If he had any pride he would find completely.

Can’t see it happening. Most sensible commentators have said it would be batted away quickly.

….Ian Byrne (West Derby) was quick to say ‘Everton wives and girlfriends should lock themselves away after a defeat’, it would be good if he was as quick to condemn this.

He won’t be getting my and my family’s vote despite us being Labour supporters. Not sure if McGovern is work and pensions.

Thank you Eggs. I genuinely despise Ian Byrne and I didn't know about that.

McGovern doesn't care less, her drones knocked on our door a few years back and gave them a few cans of coke, they admitted she did nothing about the explosion in new ferry and actually missed the deadline for funding to sort it.

Also claimed a serious amount of personal expenses during her maternity leave (on top of her £80k a year salary) excluding office staff (she doesn't pay them).

Absolute charlatans with no value.

I've followed the NFL more over recent years as even though it's America's sport it is the most socialist league in the world.

All teams have the same salary cap. Sponsorship and merchandise sales are divided up and given equally across the teams.

The Draft system gives the worst teams in the league the perfect chance for them to improve straight away.

While the Premier league is the capitalist greed league.
Agree with all them points mate but would also point out an important difference in that there is no promotion or relegation into the NFL. Team owners in USA don’t want their investments at risk.

Not trawled through this thread but my take is we’ll have agreed this behind closed doors, there will be an appeal and it will get reduced. Better it happens this year when we have [Poor language removed] teams in the bottom 3 and we look alright. My bigger concern is that we get sued (if it’s legally possible) by the relegated clubs and we have to go into admin. It’s a much more attractive / easy deal for a 777 if we are in admin as they can wash the balance sheet and go again.
If we get sued it'll take years for that sort of thing to go through the courts surely?

And you don’t think we have been handed a boost. This will bring every single Everton fan together, and Dyche will have this team fighting till the end. This brings us together in a massive way and Goodison next week will be insane.
Fine words. Then when we get a minimal amount of points in the next few games - as I believe is the overwhelming likelihood - and we find ourselves off the pace of survival even more that anger will turn inward.

Mark my words.

Dave, with respect, you are doing exactly that.

We have no idea of whether an appeal will be succesful and although our position is now indeed perilous we have demonstrated that we can grind out wins and have time remaining this season to carry this on and out perform at least 3 other terrible teams.

I can't stop you assuming the absolute worst case scenarios for the coming months (you may even be proved right) but there is still hope for our Premier League survival if you look hard enough and that's what I choose to do.

Though still wanting to be part of this stinking mess of what the PL has become ... that's another story.
I'm not panicking, I'm merely projecting ahead to a scenario that will happen: the injury of key players. We cant function to get to the level of points we need to survive without a fully fit first team. Ups to now we've been extremely fortunate.

Given how many clubs must be close to losing 105m over 3 year cycles just to survive/attempt to compete each year we could easily see a norm of 1 or 2 teams a year starting on -10 each season if this sticks.

Most seasons that is a relegation sentence to any of the bottom 10 teams. Relegation might become an administrative affair decided behind closed doors rather than a sporting jeopardy.

it would be in the scenario you describe. but we all know how this plays out, Everton get whacked with a big stick, change the rules so the big stick becomes a tickling stick and no other club gets punished because the rules changed.
